African_Fever
Attached are a few pic's of my flower rays. I managed get a new pair recently, and they're starting to settle in nicely; even eating chopped shrimp already! The new pair. New male, about 7" disc. New female, about 9" disc. Existing female, about 13" disc. Existing male, about 12" disc.
skynoch
Looking great Kyle. I cant believe you allready have the new ones eating shrimp! How big is the claspers on your original male?
African_Fever
Tiny; not even starting to develop by any means. It really puts how large flowers need to be to breed in perspective when my motoro's bred at a smaller disc size than these guys are now; though flowers are a 'leaner' ray than motoro's. I wouldn't be surprised if a 12" motoro could weigh twice what a 12" flower would.

My males are proably 17" now and the claspers are growing, but slow and steady unlike motoros, pearls, ect which seemed to grow from nothing to fully rolled in a month. I'm not sure about your flowers being half the weight of your motoros they look in amazing shape.
rED O
great looking flower rays Kyle  what kind of sand are you using? looks fine and soft. I am still in need of ideas for my 500 gallon ray tank.
African_Fever
Thanks Dustin. The sand is just one of the finest grades of frac sand. It's pretty light in weight so the rays are able to throw it around pretty good, but I like that because it means that it's getting stirred up all the time and there's no dead spots. syno321
Kyle, what is the eventual adult size of the flower rays?
skynoch
Kyle, what is the eventual adult size of the flower rays? The aqualog book says 50cm but that is way off. I would have to say around 3' across the disk. They are very similar to tiger rays. Just to give you an idea of the size here is some adult tiger rays. http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/s...highlight=tiger

Hemi
 very nice indeed what size tank are they in?
African_Fever
They're currently in a DIY 200 gallon ply/glass tank, and I'm planning to build a 4x8x24" in the near future for them; after that it'll probably be an indoor pond setup of some type, but that'll ultimately depend on where I'm living at the time.
