Fishful Thinking
On the recommended dosing for EI, I should be dosing three times a week. I have switched to once a day with the same dosing per day as what was recommended for three days a week. I have 3.6 wpg and lots of pressurized CO2. I have seen better pearling and growth. But I am still wondering if I am overdosing to the point that it might become harmful to my fish. Thoughts?
jvision
As long as you're doing the 50% WCs, you are essentially resetting the tank, keeping your fishy friends happy and safe.
jvision
Another thing about EI. You are supposed to be dosing every day, just that you dose Macros on 'even' days (ie. Mon, Wed, Fri) and Micros on 'odd' days (ie. Tue, Thu, Sat)
Fishful Thinking
Thanks, Jason. Which are the micros in EI? Edited October 19, 2009 by Fishful Thinking
jvision
Micronutrients are often called Trace Elements (Iron, Manganese, Boron, etc.). If you got it from All Seasons, it's the yellow powder. Otherwise, I often used Tropica Master Grow, or Seachem Trace.
Fishful Thinking
Thanks, Jason. Is the part about macro/micro dosing on different days part of the EI pinned thread? If not, it might be a helpful addition.
jvision
It is... I just find it hard to explain in writing.
