Vallisneria
OK, well last week i finally got around to finishing resealing my 25g tank. So today i filled it up for the first time. I want to know how i can be sure i did a good job and check for leaks. Is filling it and leaving it for a couple days insurance enough that its study and won't leak once i set it up? I filled it after supper and so far i can't see any signs of leaks(seams are dry, no bubbles).
rahim101
I always like to let the silicone cure for a about a week and then filler up and let it sit for a few days!!!!
Vallisneria
yeah thats what i'm doing. I resealed it last friday and filled it up tonight. So if it still looks dry in the next few days, and isn't showing any bubbling it should be good?
rahim101
You should be fine then, as long as you can no longer smell the silicone!!!
African_Fever
That's what I've always done when I've re-sealed the inside of a tank. I've never taken the whole thing apart and re-done it, just cut out the silicone on the inside with a razor and re-sealed it that way. I've got a 55 that I did about 5 years ago that's still running with no issues.
