Guppygirl
I have a question for people who have coconut shells in their tanks. I have 4 bn in one of my tanks. I also have corys in that tank. I want to use a coconut shell in there for the BN to breed but not the corydoras to play with. So how large should the entrance hole be??? Thanks. Wingin' It
instead of a coconut shell i'd suggest a PVC tube instead. Less trouble...but if you're really into the coconut shell, then you'll have to make it big enough for the biggest BNPleco to get into. The plecos can chase away any cories easy enough, but they might eat any fry that venture out either way.
jvision
I doubt the cories would eat BN fry - unless the cories are HUGE! Like Cate said, a hole big enough for your male to get into is sufficient, and I always found that if you blow a current across the opening, it gets him in the mood right quick.
