letsgofishn
So Superstore has a sale on Shrimp this past week, $6 for 908g for 70/90 bags. I never notice the ingredients before: Shrimp, salt, sodium tripolyphosphate. So do you think it's save for the fish to eat. I know there also salt water shrimp available as well and fresh water shrimp. Any opinions?

BettaFishMommy
i feed market shrimp pieces to my larger cichlids on occasion. they like it, but not as much as frozen fish food cubes (bloodworms, brine, etc).
Darren88
it should be good as long as theres not too much sodium in them
sicklid
I bought one of the smaller bags today that they have on sale (it is uncooked) thawed one out, cut it up and my cichlids were all over it. I use NLS everyday but this will be something special every once in a while. They really like earthworms too. It was too funny seeing them all over the tank in their spots chewing on the shrimp, and the pieces weren't very big.
rchristensen114
People dump salt in their tanks all the time it’s supposed to help keep them healthy, so that being said I think it would add to the flavor of his/her dinner not much alts. Let us know how it goes, if it goes bad we can fill your tank with Cichlids!
BettaFishMommy
i look at it this way, if i can taste the salt, my fish aren't eating it.
hustler
I bought 10 bags the last time they were on sale.... I always wondered about the salt content feeding freshwater fish, But i also add salt for my aro comm for the torn fins so i figure there is no harm
