They are in a very well covered 5 gallon with lots of hiding places. It's unheated and doesn't have a very good filter which is just fine by wild bettas. They are younger so I don't think that I'll see some breeding for a couple of months. They're quite curious about me and always approach me when it's feeding time.

And I have fry now!! Bred them the same as betta splendens but didn't add distilled water. I did add some salt and almond leaf extract. Dad's taking care of them and I'll probably remove him later today.

They're free swimming now and there's lots of them. Have to see how the next couple of days goes until they're big enough for bbs. Looking back at this post, I mentioned that they can be kept together(as that is the info on the web) but I would differ. They are jarred and the aggression level is pretty high. The last group seemed to disappear but these guys are doing well(and also are a more mature fish). The colours on them are amazing!!!

I would love a pair of thosewub.gif. I think they are the most attractive of the wild species. Good job and good luck with the babies!

Mahachais are one of my faves but I also like the little brownorums too. I think they're next into the spawn tank as I'd love to breed them!!! Such pretty little fish!!
