I couldnt sleep last night so i decided to look at the photos for loricariidae species ... started at the top (l-600) and went all the way to l-001. So i got to L-204 (flash pleco) and i was just totally stunned. These are the plecos/panaques that i have in my tank that have been labeled as an "unidentified pleco" at all CAS auctions/mini-auctions. I felt like a fool for not picking up on how different it was compared to what i originally thought it was (that being a gold striped panaque.) Ah well, everyone makes mistakes, i guess this is one more for my 26th million volume on mistakes i made in my lifetime. The 2 main differences i found between the two was the belly of them and the width of the golden stripes. and now, that is one more thing that i have learned Anyone who got these and didn't know what they were, now ya know! I just picked up a little guy that was simply labeled "pleco" and would like to have some fun IDing him... ya... that is MY idea of fun... sick huh?
