polleni-puffer
Could I make an all glass tank myself ?? Like with silicon and cut glass ?? Also what would I do for the plastic borders like on normal tanks ??
Wingin' It
yup...but you really don't need the plastic trim anywhere if you don't want it or can't find it.
polleni-puffer
O.k ,cool. Perhaps I'll just use egg crate to keep it from scratching the wood stand its on...oh the possiblities :P What would I do for a lid ?? Also I realized that I forgot the "do" in "could I do it ?" Wingin' It
I would suggest using Styro if you are worried about the tank scratching th stand...though the likelyhood of that is slim. For a lid, you can do a glass top of course...or build a canopy out of plywood? Staining with a water proof sealant would be key though I think. Tanks aren't that hard to make, but it's all about making the correct measurements and then sealing the tank with the right silicone and making it look good. Good Luck! jvision
Most of my tanks are open top. If it's a display tank, I just put a canopy over the tank to make it look nice.
