damtrees
I feed worms to my rays i always wonderd if i could use the ones you see on the roads such but was always worried about pestisides and chemicals that may be around in the city
syno321
Personally, although very tempted, I 've abstained from using the earthworms from the roads. The phenol slicks are too frequently seen on our streets and curbsides.
Burbot
Grab the ones from your gardens if you don't use toxic chems on your yard. The fish love it!
BettaFishMommy
i was VERY tempted earlier to grab the huge juicy worm i saw to the side of my condo patio, and feed it to Gus and Chuck. but then i remembered that the condo board had somebody out less than two weeks ago to put fertilizer and pesticide on the lawn

Fairly easy, doesn't smell ( at least my wife has never mentioned them ), and can be very productive.

I keep my white worms hidden in the corner of my fish room...
Vallisneria
I don't think I'd trust feeding worms I found on the road or in the garden, too many chemicals. I used to keep a rubbermaid for compost worms. My fish LOVED them and it would start a feeding frenzy. I liked the red wigglers as they are a bit smaller then the earthworms you find outside. Easier for the fish to eat whole. I used to keep them hidden away in my aquarium stand during the winter and in the garage in the summer as my mom wasn't too keen on having a box of worms in the house. Helped keep up with recycling veggie/paper scraps too.
