I have about an 8 gallon tank and its got lots of live plants in it. They are growing well but I have this hair algea problem. I have mixed in flourite with the gravel. 13 Watt Flourescent bulb. I have one little albino pleco. There are rainbows and a female guppy and betta in the tank. Any suggestions? Fire them at me. Pictures found here: http://s1254.photobu...ng4/Hair Algea/

That's beard algae. If you're not adding CO2, you can spot treat with H2O2, or get a bunch o Amanno shrimp (often sold as Algae eating shrimp). Amanno himself, adds one shrimp per gallon. I've never had that dense a population, but having at least 3 in your tank will help keep all types of algae at bay - if you add 8, you mag never see algae again!! :w00t:
