ckmullin Posted November 19, 2012 Report Share Posted November 19, 2012 You can try but throw the little suckers some lettuce etc...tempt them away from your plants. acarriere Posted November 19, 2012 Author Report Share Posted November 19, 2012 Thanks, I do give him lettuce and other veggies, but they have to be taken out if they aren't eaten within a few hours, otherwise they'll gunk up the water. I was hoping someone knew of a non-toxic plant that tasted bad to turtles (unlikely as that may be -- my guy periodically tries to eat his plastic plants). BettaFishMommy Posted November 20, 2012 Report Share Posted November 20, 2012 even if you could find a plant that wouldn't be appetizing to a turtle, they'd still be likely to uproot the plants constantly just from moving around the tank. that'd make for some really unhappy plants. eartheater Posted December 4, 2012 Report Share Posted December 4, 2012 I have kept res for years and there are a lot of plants that I have tried, The only one that did kinda good in there was duckweed. They still ate it but it was slow. I also had been growing the duckweed in another tank with lots of light and kept adding it in the turtle tank.
