Natural Stimulus

Some time ago I had tossed live black worms into a tank containing a sand substrate. In this tank were carnivorous plecos.

Many of these worms have survived hiding in the sand under rocks and the like.

I had dropped in yesterday 5 young Geophagus Tapijos. They have found out there is actually treats in the sand and have stepped up the pace to find them before their tankmates do. Needless to say they are a bit more excited about the worms than the usual NLS staple.

Wish I had discovered this when I had an Aluloncara tank. As it would be an interesting thing to watch.

just thought I'd share

I'm culturing some in a 5 gallon tank, toss in algae wafers to feed them and they keep going. I definitely don't get enough to feed all the fish tanks and maintain population. Tuan over at Aquarium Central also has them for sale, he keeps them in one of his tanks as well although I think his does better as well, maybe its the constant water changes that happen where I change when I remember.
