Recently moved from B.C and have rekindled my love of this hobby after finding a 29 gallon tank in our shed :-)

spent the last couple of months putting it together and researching new tank set ups.

glad to see there's a thriving community of aquaria nerds here in my new town :-)

awwwww man! Don't you hate it when you spend forever on a nice long detailed message only to press the wrong buttoon and POOF gone.... Been a while since I've posted on forums so I've now decided I'll have to pull out the 'ol laptop for this kinda stuff.

Thanks for the welcomes guys!

These are the most recent pictures of the tank.

It is currently home to 7 cardinal tetras and 6 rasbora hengeli.

I currently have the temperature at 80 as I'm hoping to make this into a nice home for a ram or two.

On initial set up I started cycling with ammonia. I've been monitoring the water parameters like a mad woman to make sure everything stays nice and stable (using a liquid test kit for ph, ammonia, nitrites, nitrates)

Whilst cycling I bought three plants- hornswort, cabomba and moneywort. As you can see the hornswort and cabomba have been thriving so I've trimmed and replanted them many times to help fill out the tank a bit more. The moneywort was doing very well to begin but has since withered and turned brown.... I'm now down to a single stem :-( I treat the plants with flourish by seachem weekly.

As for lights I'm using the aqueon modular led system with two day white lights. I'm not exactly sure what wattage they give off :-S.

I definately know the benefits of going to a small LFS over the big chains, however with only one vehicle it was a matter of convenience to set up my tank with their products :-)

I'm running an Aqueon Quiet flow rated for 50 gallons which is pushing 250gph... no issues with dirty water here hah

I've been doing 35% water changes with aqueon water conditioner roughly every 5 days.
