blink
My rainbows have been doing good until recently, having lost one mysteriously over night a week or two ago and then last night I lost two more and one of my last four is curved or bent to his left side. He is bent like he's in a permanent left turn, but not kinked hard over. He is swimming in a darty motion and seems to be mostly in control considering.I've tried googling but without knowing a more specific term to apply to the condition the results are just too generic and not at all helpful.I'll try and snap a photo but I'm not sure how much luck I'll have. jvision
A possibility could be high levels of aggression. I've seen the bent spine in a male rainbow that came in 2nd place after a battle for dominnace. I assume it swam into the glass really hard, or got hit in the wrong spot when it was flashing. RD.
A bent or curved spine may possibly be a mycobacteria infection, commonly referred to as fish tuberculosis. The following discussion may help. http://www.rainbowfish.info/forum/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=2389
blink
I don't think it would be aggression, possible but strange that I'd lose two fish and have one get in a fender bender but have no nipped tails or bites.RD, I was wondering if that might be it, it was one of the few things I'd seen which was definitely indicated as being a possible issue. Reading indicates that this is potentially a huge problem and since these rainbows are pretty tough to come by this is pretty depressing to consider.
