davis101
I had a good look at my some leaves stuck to the glass of my tank and there were what appeared to be whitish yellowish worms. It spooked me so I did a bit of research and found out they were aquatic caterpillars which use leaves as a defense against predators.Kind of neat until I read that they would eventually turn into cocoons and then moths and fly out of the tank, which freaked me out. Sounded like something out of a nightmare lol. Needless to say I pulled the couple out that I could find and flushed them down the toilet. haha Anybody else ever had or seen these? jvision
There are some native varieties as well. The ones here are a fly larvae of some sort - I used to know, but have forgotten... stonefly, maybe?
davis101
Nope those larvae have long limbs this was a caterpillar. Have you seen them before jvision? For a brief moment i thought it was a type of fish parasite, like a worm or such.

jvision
I've only seen them a couple times - I have seen them locally... if I remember right, it was at a few of the lakes outside Edmonton. I've also seen them come in on plants from Indonesia.
