zoopkamol
Looking for some pool filter sand in Edmonton? Any ideas where to find? Tried big box stores wally-mart and couple hot tub places with no luck.

MattsBettas
Is there a reason playsand wouldn't work? That's what I use, easy to find, cheap, works well and looks great. You could try somewhere like Home Depot.
jvision
Pool filter sand tends to be slightly more coarse than Play Sand. If you're looking for a silicate that's a bit more coarse than Play Sand, try SIL Industries, they're at Yellowhead and 17st. They have a great selection, and there have been a few of us who've bought from them over the years - last time I was in they said, "Oh, for an aquarium? SIL 9 is what everyone gets" Either SIL 8 or 9 are pretty common. I think a 90lb bag is around $
DevonCichlid
I just bought some Sil 8 (80lb bag) $12.96 and Sil 9 (90lb bag) $11.78. The Sil 8 is in nearly all my tanks now and the 9 is for an aquarium I put in at work. Much cheaper alternative to the fish stores.

Labman
That's odd, I bought 2 of the 22.7 kg. bags of the #9 on Monday, S.I.L. charged me $10.71 a bag, tax in!
zoopkamol
No idea I never asked price on #9. Didn't like look of it. Got my curiosity though now so ill call them to ask price on 7,8,9 to see if difference. I'll post findings later
zoopkamol
ok just talked to them 22.7kg of #7 =5.90 2 bags would be 11.90 40kg of #8=11.50 50kg of #9=11.60 so all in all basically same price throughout No idea why they charged you what they did
