lukep77
I was just wondering, has any one ever used a "actinic" light over their cichlid tank. I use a actinic light over my salt tank, when the main lights go out the blue light brings out all the nice bright colors out of every thing. So I was thinking, that it would work the same way with cichlids, right? If any one has any experience with this or any ideas let me know. Thanks L
dunl
Yup, works well with blue cichlids. I prefer to have something else with it, though, in order to make it more natural...

jvision
In my planted tank, I have a 5500K and 6500K for the back 2, and a 13000K for the front. Really brings out the colors - you should see cardinal tetras!!
