Attachments On AA

Recommended Posts

I have just set up the attachments for all members, and I thought I would share with everyone, so we all are on the same playing field. Your 'quota' applies to ALL combined attachments made on the board, and includes the space in your PM folders.

New members who have not been placed in a group according to their location : 100 k

Members who ARE in their proper location group : 1,024 k ( 1 megabyte)

AA Mentors (nice little perk of being a know-it-all) : 2,048 k ( 2 megabytes)

AA Moderators (better perk for being a control freak) : 4,096 k (4 megabytes)

You can manage your attachments via the 'My Controls' link at the top of the page, look at the menu on the left and there you'll see the link for 'Manage Your Attachments'.

Any questions on this or anything else technical with the board, please PM me and I'll do my damnedest to see what I can get working for you.

For those who need 'a little more room at the Inn' I am working on a plan... but I need to make it fair for everyone. Those numbers above were based on the fear that everyone would max out their limits and were based on our current server's space.

The Gallery will be up soon, (I am just finalizing the permissions in that system) and once it is online then your pictures can be posted in there. I may run a system at that time where everyone has x amount of space, with donators to the forum upgrade and future donators paying for additional storage, which only seems fair to me. I am still really new to the system, and hopefully will be fully familiar with all the controls I have available, soon.

One thing I would suggest is that if you have an attachment on the system that is older than september, delete it. The server move we made then actually 'lost' all attachments on the old server, so there is a whole chunk of wated space that may be affecting your current quota. removing these dead links may clean up the numbers for you.

Otherwise, if you've busted your 1 meg allotance in the past six months, maybe look at the Buy and Sell and remove pictures that were used for items that are sold, or remove pictures from posts that were a temporary nature (jokes, or cliparts, etc).
