I want to try and breed this species! Can I do it in a 10 gallon Tank ?? and if I can how many females should I put with the Male?? How big do they get adult size?? How aggressive is this species??

Anybody with experience with this species would be a help!

Thanks

A 10 gallon tank is simply going to be too small, as the male will end up killing off the females. You will need to go with a larger tank. The males are also very agressive towards other males, so if you have more than one male, you will need MANY females to take their minds off each other.

I agree with dunl a ten gallon tank is way to small..............

I find all my cichlids are very teritorial and need a lot

space to be happy, plus the ones I originally bought never

really grew in the ten gallon they came with, they fought all the time.....

My smallest breeding group is in a 33 gallon tank. :D

I would recommend at least a 50 gallon tank (4' long) for a group. I have my breeding group of 2 males and 8 females in my 60 gallon tank with lots of slate rock work to create caves.

It can be done in a 33 gallon but you may have aggression issues...

PM me if you are looking for some saulosi as i have f2's that are just about an inch big now. The parents are in my avatar.
