Cap'n
I read a review of A. calvus which said they were good tang. community fish as long as they weren't housed with shell-dwellers. Why would this be?
rahim101
I have calvus and comps in with some brevis and have not had any problems. In the wild, however, the alto's eat smaller creatures from with crevises using their sleek bodies and thier unique mouths. It works for me....I guess it is a situation where you have to pay close attention to the fish to see if they are getting along!!!!
Nandopsis
I would say that if your Calvus were full grown it would be asking for trouble, but if they were relitivly small then there should be no problem for quite some time. After all Calvus grow INCREDIBLY slow.
Vallisneria
Brevis are one of the larger shell dwellers, thats probably why its working for rahim.
Nyasa
I believe the problem lies in the tendency of the calvus to eat the fry of shelldwellers. I do not think that they would have problems with adult shellies.
