Loyal to the Oil
Just wondering if anyone knows where in calgary i can find and glass CO2 diffuser. I am running pressurized CO2 in my planted tank now and the hagen ladder diffuser just isnt cutting it anymore. Here is an example of what i am talking about. Anyone have any ideas ? Thanks, James Edited June 15, 2007 by Loyal to the Oil
Blue Ram
I use these diffusers. Can't get them in Calgary. Aquagiant in Edmonton carries them. About $15. They do need cleaning every so often because the ceramic clogs up.
corrosionjerry
You can purchase them in Edmonton at Aqua Giant and at B/A..Aqua Giants knock offs are fairly inexpensive ... for the type you have in the picture they run around 15 bucks if I remember correctly.. smaller one is around 10... at B/A double the price.. Maybe if you have a friend etc. in Edmonton they could purchase and send 1 in the mail for you! I agree that they are better then ladders as I have both... the glass is superior.. BowMaster
If you are interested in a smaller option. I use a Red Sea, Reactor 500, it is super small and works great for aquariums up to 125 Gallon. It's more expensive than the passive units but check it out. http://www.bigalsonline.com/BigAlsUS/ctl36...reactor500wpump Lyle
corrosionjerry
The Redsea version is of better quality and diffuses the CO2 better then the cheaper asian knockoffs.... Most of our sponser stores should be able to order you in these units.... Just ask them Edited January 6, 2008 by corrosionjerry

They have larger ones for larger tanks... http://home.search.ebay.com/diffuser_Fish-...Z1QQsacatZ20754
jvision
If you're looking to diffuse CO2 on the cheap, bubble it into the intake of a powerhead - that'll chop up the bubbles great. If you want even smaller bubbles (creating a CO2 mist), put a scew-type valve at the end of your tubing, and tighten it so that CO2 barely bubbles out. The powerhead will chop these tiny bubbles up into a fine mist.
geleen
Please enlighten this Co2 ,not even started, newby! 1/Is this all you need? 2/I guess one needs to buy co2 cartridges as well? And how many per year? 3/They talk about 180 bubbles per minute is this enough for a 1.8 w/gal, 90 gallon tank? 4/ What will happen to my PH Thank you for your reply ...I am totally in the dark about this, but would like better plant growth without adding more wattage.
