  1. Indeed, I am waiting right now for the color to develop in the Nitrate test tube If u need an idea of how settled the sand is in the tank, have a peek at my pleco photo in the daily photos section
  2. That website has served me very well in my research on Rainbowfish, I would definitely reccommend it to you
  3. LOL, I did!!! But guess what? My sister changed her mind about changing her subsrate today, now I have a huge pail full of wet sand, a $20 heater and a brand new $90 Hagen master test kit!!!!! :grr:  :grr:  :grr: I'm not made of money!!!! :pff:
  4. More Pleco pics!!! The sand has settled quite a bit more so it is quite a bit clearer: He's actually upside down in both of the pics
  5. Sure am, and those sure are tow Bronze Cories and one albino, I've also got my pleco in there. Those fish will be in there just until I can get some sand into my sister's tank. I'll put her goldfish in the tank with my fish also. When the sand settles, the cories and goldfish go back in her tank, and by then the pleco will have grown a bit more, then maybe some one will take him  The list is in my sig for now.
  6. Thats the kind of thing Chong would buy, then he would wonder why it melts when he tries to smoke out of it  Then Cheech would walk in an be all like "Holy chit man, it smells like burnt toast in here man! hehe"
  7. It's been a while since I've posted pics, so here is one of my unsellable Pleco :cuss: Looking at you with the "Plecostomus Omega Iris " -roll- Great pics all around!!!
  8. Here's an update! The sand is still settling, but it should be much clearer in a little bit. I have been unable to get rid of the Pleco, 6" Common Pleco and NO one will take him!!!! The aquascaping of the tank will change alot once I can get two of the three filters the heck out of there (just to pick up silt). Thats all for now! Heres a pic of the tank (latest) This is the 6 Gal SW tank (I know it is irrelevant, but it's here anyway) Its only 2" Taylor
  9. LOL ah whatever I confessed my No0b mistake. But the tank is nearly clear now and I'll probably still run the sock/cotton ball filters just for another week afterwards just to make sure I got it all out. Thanks for all the help folks!!!
  10. I really love how everyone has kind of a specialized section of fish, yours seems to be A. Cichlids popeye. Gorgeous fish as always!!!
  11. No as a matter of fact I didn't wash the sand before I put it in, I've been beating myself up for that :boxed: , I knew someone would think of that for a reason, but I didn't want to admit it!!! :P Ah well, thanks for the help folks, I put an old sock (clean) over the filter cartridge for my fluval 4, added cotton to my AC 70 and 20. So the tank had better damn well be clear by the time I get home from school tommorow, or I'll be one pissy little girl (I am I guy, just so that I don't cause any confusion) -roll- Thanks again people!! Taylor
  12. WOW, I was expecting at least 1 or 2 stupid answers, awesome. OK heres the exact info u wanted: Purchased at AquaGiant, 22 Lbs, it's just light brown, fairly fine-grained sand, that's about all i can tell you about it. Whats a corner filter? Would it work if I put some cotton in my AC 70 and 20? Thanks so much Taylor
  13. Does anybody know how long (generally) it takes for sand to settle in a FW tank, this is a real pain. It looked settled, then I put my fish in and now it's all messed up and murky again, such aggrivation, anyone know??? Thanks Taylor
  14. Feaking awesome everyone!!!! I canNOT wait to see the UW pics Popeye, those are my favs! I haven't been able to get any new good pics of my fish, the sand is settling in the tanks still Oh well, coming soon!!
  15. Dammit!!! I LOOOOVE those gudgeons but can't find them ANYWHERE!!!! What size of a tank do they need, would a 5 Gal be sufficient??? Gorgeous shots of the Darios and JD too  I love your small fish style man
  16. Well, I do hear that they can be aggressive towards fish, my Goby isn't likely to be moving a whole lot once I get him, so he would be an easy meal for the crab. But I would definately take the crab over the goby, the tank is a bit small for fish anyhow. So the only question is: will it harm any of my other invert species? They are omnivores... So they like snails... damn, well I guess I can't have the bumblebee snails. Hmmm, any other, non-expensive, non-hermit crabs out there that I could wave some cash in front of?
  17. I've heard that Emerald Crabs are semi-aggressive, would they be safe for my Hermit crab, skunk cleaner shrimps, and my clown goby? Or would they be too aggressive?
  18. Go on ahaead steal all my plans and ideas!!! LOL, it will fit man, don't forget how much time I spend researching these things. Thta's the exact same setup as mine, I was assured by RUDY that either a G. Smithii or an N. Wennerae will fit in the 6 Gal, of course, I already told you this, but for some reason you felt you had to post it here lol!! Good Luck, I will beat you to the setup!!! Taylor
  19. This is true, the other two forums are a worldwide network, so you can imagine that there are enough members to sustain healthy participation in a contest like this. Oh well, I love Alberta Aquatica for what it offers, which is a local network of aquarists, it's quite nice to have with, or without PotM!!! Thanks anyways! Taylor
  20. Or from your sand if it just came out of the bag, I found three small seashells in the bag of mine!!
  21. Well enjoy watching the vidoes, and viewing the photographs of the whale and squid species off the coast of Japan. If those... goofy little fellows keep up what they're doing, we won't have any left. You know they eat things that they don't even know wtf they are, caught by their "researchers" ugh!!!! Don't get me wrong I am pasionate about the Japanese culture, I am taking Japanese 10 and am learning plenty. And although I don't believe in any earthly (or human) higher powers, I do think that someone should play the babysitter and stop them from wiping the earth clean of these animals. Sorry for the rant, nice squid Taylor
  22. The sand is in the tank! Heres the Eclipse System 6 Tank that was overpriced IMO :pff: (it's the tank for the mantis shrimp and the sand is still settling) This is the 20 Gal tank that was in all of my previous pics (also really full of still settling sand) And here's the two of em together in my room! More updates coming soon! Taylor
  23. Nice photos all around people! I'm glad I'm not the only one who loves photographing fishes! Here are some shots of my Koi (could be the last shots, he's not doing to well in the QT tank) And here we have a couple shots of the Koi and my Sisters fancy goldfish (kept in her 5 Gal tank  ) Keep up the good photography everyone!!!
  24. Man, that's an extra-aquatic idea!!! I'm all for it!!!!
