Aww I wish my cories would do that. I would love to raise cory babies.

Try to build this tank in your basement

Imagine the livebearer potential! Thousands of swordtails. Or re-create one of the rift lakes! -ham- :w00t: *drool* -
You are correct. Rock wall

Fish cave I thought this cave looked super cool and took care of too problems at once.

This may be a silly question but, do you get to see the puffers "puff" or are they too happy?
-
Awesome, thanks a lot. Sorry about the picture confusion. I did learn how to upload a picture! The eggs look kinda cool, so I don't mind them.
-
Sorry about the poor quality of the picture.

What the heck are those white dots on the driftwood? I have some swordtails and some Ruby Nerite snails in there. Having computer trouble, will try to upload picture tomorrow.

They did it again! I found a tiny shrimp body in the tank. (I think it was my largest livebearer fry) So I investigated why the shrimp may have died. One of the first things I look at is the filtration, is it clogged etc? When I was rooting around in there I found 7 cherry shrimp. How did they do it? I have the intake blocked off so they cannot crawl up there.

what interesting cats are out there

I have bronze cory cats. I love them! I mato grosso pleco named Thurbur, one BN pleco named Willy and one gold nugget pleco named Gertie. Probably very plain and ordinary, but I love them all. -
Just guppies now. Nothing special.

Cool spider. I thought it looked cuddly too. Husband would only say "Spiders are for squishing" Nuah  To him.

As far as I know vinegar eels can be kept for as long as you want them. I have them sitting in a pop bottle on my desk. The pop bottle is 3/4 full of apple cider vinegar. I haven't done anything to/for them since I bought them for a dollar at the last ACE auction. If your husband is coming to Edmonton again soon, the offer still stands. Free with pickup.

Darn it, anyone going to Calgary? I have a vinegar Eel culture sitting on my desk ext to my computer right now. I would give it to you if I had a way to get it to you. My fry are all livebearer so they don't really need it.

I am so glad that you did not have another disaster. YAY! :smokey: -
That's too bad about the amno shrimp. I am sure glad I have a cover on the tank and the filter! Also all of my shrimp have fully coloured up. I have 3 boys and 4 girls (roughly) Almost all of the girls are pregnant!

I was very upset. My cherry shrimp had vanished. No little bodies to mark a ammonia/nitrate spike. Nothing. :eh: I happened to mention this to Jvision. In all of his wisdom he says "Look in the filter" :guns: There they were! Alive and well. :w00t: Probably a common and ordinary thing for the experienced folks, but it was a miracle to this newb. It made my day! Thank you Jvision!

I had a jolly good time with my powerbar. I accidentally knocked my Sea Monkeys over onto the power bar. I was trying to figure out which one was the filter while it shocked me and smoke was coming out of the power bar. BTW, frying Sea Monkeys smell really bad.

I had an illness in my tank and had to isolate 2 swordtail females that had slimy white poo. The slimy white poo is all gone, and my girls have returned to their sprightly selves. The odd thing that I want to ask a question about is, did my fish change colour because of the illness or was it coincidence? One of the females that was isolated has changed colour. Not drastically, but changed. She used to be a light orange with a darker orange stripe and light orange fins. Now she is dark orange with black on her tail, black on the edge of her dorsal fin, and a dark brown stripe. She is a pretty young fish. She has dropped 2 batches of fry since I got her but I think she would still be considered a juvenile. Just wondering.

My wife stopped at the LFS on the way home from work today...

Very pretty. I got one from Nature's Corner that Husband is still shaking his head over. I think the little bit of tail I can see peeping out of the dolphin cave is worth every penny I spent. I also have no idea what L it is, or even the proper name for her. I have named her Golden Gertie. -
I love the clown loach. So cute!

Well, this story turned me off hatchetfish.
