  1. Thanks, I appreciate the compliment! Another one from tonight:
  2. I have been trying out some different settings on the camera using manual mode. Here are some from tonight. I wanted to show on a couple of pictures the surprising amount of blue on the chimba faces.
  3. I added some shots to my 150 gallon thread: Fishful Thinking Member Journal
  4. Fantastic! The bichir seems to move so fluidly. How big is it?
  5. That creek shot is amazing! Great shots.
  6. I love the idea for this contest! If it would have been around when I had the planted tank and I had taken some pictures of the algae... Well, anyways, here is the best that I can do right now. I don't think it will win, but I like the contrast. Great idea, Werner!
  7. I do the 30% water changes now as well. I find that with the kiriza, which are bigger, they don't even seem to notice and keep motoring around the tank.
  8. Nice shot. Beautiful sunset.
  9. Thanks! There are 8 multipunctatus and 4 petricola in the 150. There are 8 petricola in the chimba tank.
  10. I don't find the feeding requirements that strict. I feed NLS and I make sure to not overfeed.
  11. I have been messing around with Live Type, so the titles have some crazy stuff going on! New Red Chimba video with Synondontis Petricola

    Hi

    Welcome to the site!
  13. Excellent! I converted two of my tanks over to tropheus and I have loved it! What type of moorii are you thinking? I am not an expert, but my advice would be get as many as you can (30 is nice if you can get that many), overfilter and don't overfeed (NLS). I have my red chimba with 8 synodontis petricola and they are doing fantastic. I have head some people put a single pair of goby cichlids from Lake Tanganyika. To be perfectly honest, though, I don't think tropheus need any other species in their tank. They are so active and use some much of the tank space that I could watch them for hours. If you want, I have a couple of tropheus journal topics on the go: Fishful Thinking Member Journal Other sites that I have found quite useful:Tropheus Corner, Steve's Tropheus Good luck if you take the plunge.
  14. Great setup! That female festae is stunning.
  15. They're looking great, especially "C"!
  16. Some video of the tank from this morning.
  17. Great shots of great fish! *Cough-member journal-cough* lol
  18. I run two eheim 2217 classics. They are great. Quiet/silent, huge media capacity and no bypass. One will be lots for 65 gallons. In regards to whether or not the flow rate would be too much, I wouldn't worry about it. Flow rate in the eheim classics is not as powerful as other canisters, but with the design of them, they don't need as much flow because of the large media volume and lack of bypass. I would recommend the 2217 as it gives you plenty of filtration and can be moved onto larger tanks in the future more easily than the 2215.
  19. Has anyone used the Hydor Flo Rotating Water Deflector or the Hydor Bioflo Deflector Sponge? Let me know what you think!
  20. Yeah, this is not the final version, but the rocks on the bottom are pretty well solid (so far). The catfish really like it, as do the mbuna in the tank. It actually allows me to see more of those fish because I can look at them from the sides now. I'll probably revamp it for safety, but the overall idea I like. Alright, Jason, I'll talk to the boss and we'll have you guys over for some eats and a "rock" session!
  21. Thanks! It's been a lot of fun so far.
  22. I did the big switcheroo (to use Jason's language) to use the vertical space more. Before: After:
