I had an issue with some of the fish I got from the auction as well. My 90 gallon is now plagued with BLOAT and I have lost my first fish. It may not be dur to the poor quatlity of fish purchased, but more so of stressed fish being in a cold room for such a long time and the stress that goes with that. I too, did not quarantine the new fish and am going through the expensive BLOAT treatment right now. All the others seem to be fine for now.

More filtration = More bacteria = can handle a heavier bio load!!!!!!!!!!

They don't seem to be getting hurt.... I have notice that some fish just like the current. I have a tank full tropheus duboisi and there are a few that like swimming against the powerhead current!!!!! I am sure in a few day they will adjust and swim around the whole tank!!! How long have they been in the tank????

I still think the recommended tank sizes for the Aqua Clears is off. There is no way I would filter my 90 with Just and AC 300. For HOB filters, I like to use the rule that says you should filter ALL the water in the tank 8-10 times per hour. I use 2 AC 500's and an 802 pwrhead in my 90 gallon and for the price it is kept spotless with no hassle. ($55.00 X 2 for the AC 500 + $50.00 for the 802 =$150.00 OR an ehiem canster that start at $150.00....

Hard to tell if they are wild caught. They do look nice though and if you trust the source where you bought them from, then I am sure you are OK!!!!
