I second RD comment. Just see what happens. They may not breed or be old enough to breed for some time. When that time come, I assure you, you will know and all your other fish will either start being killed off or will retreat to the top corners of the tank. I would just wait it out and see....BUT be prepared

Ryan, I think it boils down to one of two things: (1) comfort level AND (2) having a digital camera to take pics and then post them. Smokey may not either have the means to post pics of his on nor have a comfort level. Either way there are no pics. This conversation should end NOW and the mod/admin of this forum should remove the any posts that aren't in the theme of the original post OR the posters of such posts become adults and remove any non-theme post on thier own. This forum and board are ment to create a community where people and ask for or offer help to others, not a venue for petty b*tching and complaining. The mods are here to moderate not babysit. Please keep that in mind for the future. AND please be adults in this matter.

OR get them both!!!!! the albino and regular socolofi are still socolofi and if they cross breed, half will be albino and other half normal!!!!! no harm done. Does that help at all????

It's very hard to stop fish from breeding and pairing up. I don't think it is aproblem unless you see the "pair" being agressive towards any of the other tank mates. Wait it out and see what happens. No use panicing until there is a reason to. Keep us informed and we will try help as much as possible.

What you probably have attached to your powerhead is an aquaclear quick filter which is OK for taking the smallest particules out of the water. The aqua clear 300 is a HOB (hang on back) mecanical / biological filter. I agree with Oxquo....cichlids like clean water and water current. Aqua Clear 500 go for $55.00 here in Calgary (at Gold's) and I run 2 each my 90 and 60 gallon. Best bang for the buck

I use Ebo-Jager...(Cheapest place to get them in Calgary is Gold Aquariums). They also sell a plastic heater guard. I use the heater guards in most of my tanks with the heater and with the Frontosa I had, never lost a heater. I would encourge the heater guard!!!!!!

I have to agree with FishmanCalgary. I had mine growing out in a 20 gallon with an aqua clear 300 and water changes very couple of days. Also, I have had very good results feeding juvies with "SUPER BITS" fish food made by HAIFENG.... Too bad about you loosing them...they are fun little fish.... I kinda wish I still had my w/c trio.
