  1. Gold's is usually very good with thier fish. Your best bet is to take the dead fish as well as a water sample to them and they will probably be able4 to help you track the problem down. What kind of fish were they, how long have you had them?? Good Luck
  2. When fish are shipped in from Africa, it take a lot longer then 3 hours. I have shipped fish to Toronto without any problems, the 3 hour drive will NOT be a problem. Good Luck either way
  3. Gold Aquariums in Calgary has tons. And the ship. Check out thier website at: www.cichlids.ca
  4. Here is another good place to search for the answers you are looking for: http://www.malawimayhem.com/phpBB2/ I do have to agree with RD, that tank is ideal as a fry grow out tank and not much more. How ever, a 30 gallon if set-up right could house a small colony of peacocks mixed with some yellow labs. I would go with juvies of about 6-8 of each and grow them out together. It may work, an I would probably try it, but be prepared to upgrade in the future if it does not work out. Good Luck.
  5. http://www.cichlid-forum.com/articles/quic...erence_list.php You could probably get away with using the 40 gallon cookie cutters and subtract one... Good Luck
  6. How did you make out so far for your betta babies??

An all Hap tank in my mind would consist of: 4 Cyrtocara moorii (1 male, 3 females) 4 Protmelas sp. "taiwan reef" (1 male, 3 females) (or any other Protomelas sp.) 4 Aulonocara sp (any of your choice) (1 male, 3 females) 4 Copadichromis azureus OR borleyi (1 male, 3 females) 4 Placidochromis phenochilus (1 males, 3 females) 4 Otopharynx lithobates (1 males, 3 females) 4 Nimbochromis venustus (1 males, 3 females) All of the above can live together as well as breed in the same tank with zero to minimal chance of cross-breeding. If you want to start out with juvies, I would get 6-7 of each and weed them out as they get older. Also, in the future, if you want to add fronts to the tank or even grow out fronts with them, this would work as all the above will grow to 5-7 inches each. Good Luck and let me know how you make out. Later,

With a tank that size, I would go with an all Hap tank. They get nice and big and when you want to get fronts, you can add them in..... Let me know if you want some suggestions..
  9. Salosi are a orangish yello color, I have seen wild caught females that are alomost a redish orange color. You may also want to consider getting Pseudotropheus sp. "msobo deep" Magunga http://www.malawimayhem.com/profile_show.php?id=554 They had some over at Gold Aquariums a while back... Good Luck
  10. I have used it and it works great. I also trust Gold's... A great way to jump start a tank, I highly recommend it. Later,
  11. vantgE: Take it back. i bought one from Golds and it turns out that there was a defect in a bunch of them and they leak. I bought one made by "LEE'S" instead and it works great and was a lot cheaper. OR You could have a loose conecter somewhere.
  12. I have occelatus for sale if you are interested. I have a large order going out Wed, you have to let me know before then. Thanks,
  13. Did my methode help clear the cloudiness?? Let me know, Thanks,
  14. I cant see the pics... It says that file is unaccessible. Maybe e-mail the pics over to me directly at rahim101@shaw.ca ... I should be able to help, if not, Albert Dao on this forum, who works for Gold Aquariums will definetly be able to help.. Thanks,

  18. C. azureus: AKA Electric Blue II Very nice and easy to keep. Also, Placidochromis phenochilus will also allow more then one male. Good Luck,
  19. Gold Aquariums has a breeding trio. I know that he has sold a couple of trios as well. Not many of these guy around. The "Black" Brichardi, cool fish. Enjoy,
  20. I always start out by buying a large group of juvies, say 10-12, I like keeping 1:3 ratios. Wait till they they mature and weed out the ones you don't by placing an ad in the Bargin finder OR online here. Good Luck,
  21. Go with the kit, it looks like a decent package. try to get an "ebo jager" heater, as they are the best. price looks reasonable. As far as fish go, it all depends on what you want. Do some research and ask questions for compatiblity, its hard to tell you what to put, It depends on individual taste. Here is a good site to start your reasearch: http://www.cichlid-forum.com/index.php Good Luck, Rahim
  22. Looks like a type of Pseudotropheus elongatus. Not 100% sure though.

  24. It did not take me long to get the mix together. Here in Calgary we have great source of good quality fish: - local breeders and Gold Aquariums I bought have the mix from a breeder friend and the other half from Gold Aquariums. Later,
