  1. So you hate most flowerhorns? Oh well, they are one of those fish you ether love or hate.
  2. I am aware they are not from Charles, I never stated that at all.. I mean if you wear placing a order to Thailand, I would of joined in and helped split shipping costs. Who did you go threw?
  3. You should of told me you were placing a order. I would of been in for a couple thai silks. Where did you get them form?
  4. He would kill a oscar. Unless your going to attempt to breed him, I would not give him any tank mates.
  5. Do you think you can resize your signature? A little smaller maybe?
  6. You will be fine. Its just Boom smoking crack jk. If you want to give mbunas a try, buy a group of small yellow labs( 6 or so), start with that. Give them maybe pvc piping or if you want to make it nice, do some little rock work making caves. They also love sand for digging. If in the future, you wanted to start a african tank with more kinds mbuna, haps and maybe even peacocks, you can decide if you are able to upgrade to a tank suitable for a african group. 75 gallons is a great size for a group of african cichlids.
  7. -roll- I remember when 33 gallons was my big tank. A while ago.. I would skip the rusties and get pseudotropheus acei. They are another peaceful mbuna that mix great with yellow labs. Yes, they should breed in your tank. Just make sure to give them lots of places to dig spawning pits and give them lots of caves for breeding.
  8. Most likely, because big als has that one gold xback for 10 grand. I am not sure I can say a pair of bettas would be worth more than that. so we have a trade?
  9. Ill buy you a zebra pleco. If you buy me a golden crossback aro.
  10. I don't think there are foods that will grow his hump larger. The size of the kok is depended on the genetics of the flowerhorn and dominance. I looked for a long time before buying my flowerhorns. I wanted to make sure I got high quality ones with kok potential.
  11. Hey Kevin Another flowerhorn fan  Honestly, he will kill anything you put with him. 75 gallon is a perfect size for a single flowerhorn. Have a picture of him?
  12. Yeah, but at 3'', they are defenseless. They are more aggressive, but when it comes down to it, its all about the tank size and the individual fish. I have seen jars with other fish. I have also see jars that would kill anything you put with it.
  13. I am full of crap? I don't know whats in your tank, you change fish all the time. I said it would not die as in it was healthy, I did not say anything about nocturnal predatory fish eating a 3'' arowana.. It was healthy in the tank I had it before I traded him. One of your fish ate it. If you really wanted to keep it alive, you should of grown it out until it was at least 5''. Looking good
  14. What are you suggesting? :hey:
  15. It took many of man hours. If your interested in a tank like mine, I can build one for you for a negotiated price.
  16. Thank you. I shopped around and priced out many places looking for supplies getting the best deals. The final cost of the project ran just under 1 thousand. FULL TANK SHOT!!!! under the tank
  17. Well this is not a adult is it? What would you say it is then? My vote is still on some Herichthys. Sorry im not sure what it is, I was just stating that I doubt it to be a Texas cichlid, though I do realise it can change quite a bit from now to a full colour adult Kyle My vote is still on it being a herichthys
  18. Thank you. Yes, they are all in the 500 gallon together. Thanks! I am very proud of my custom tank. I have had sooo many complements on it. i have had half a dozen people I don't even know coming by to just look at my tank. This is my dream tank, with very supportive parents, and a well paying job, it was made possible If I had a tank of half the size, the fish would be killing eachother. With having a large tank, they fish have enough space to all have there own area of the tank without bring disturbed. The jag flares up now and then to show that he is boss. The two wild oscars spar once in a while, but they are adult oscars, so thats expected. Thanks everyone for the kind words. I just noticed, everyone who commented used a exclamation mark! :boxer:
  19. Well this is not a adult is it? What would you say it is then? My vote is still on some Herichthys.
  20. fairdeal had some nice l330 not to long ago. For a very reasonable price.
  21. I went on a pleco rant, so I changed topic to silver dollars. Thats just how I worded it haha. Anymore questions?
  22. If your going to get a pleco, it has to be a large one, so the oscar does not try and eat it one day. If your planning on having a pleco for clean up, they produce more bio load then they clean. So if you get a pleco, you get one because you like them. I am a HUGE pleco fan. If your willing to invest a pretty penny on a pleco, here is what I would get for a oscar. L27 Royal pleco, L25 scarelt plecos are cool as well. L330 watermellons are cool too! I really like the As for silver dollars, 5 is a good number Id say. Id get a scarlet pleco. One of these is going to set you back around 250 bucks :boxed:
  23. I am not saying albino oscars don't exist, I am saying they are very very rare. A true albino oscar will be a solid yellowish white color with red eyes. The white oscar with orange markings sold at local pet stores with the name '' albino oscar'' is not a true albino oscar. The name for these types of oscars are lutino oscars. I would not add another oscar with the one you plan to buy in a 90 gallon tank. To have two oscars live together, I would recommend at least a 6' tank of 120 gallons. Oscars are not schooling fish, they do not need tank mates or buddies to be happy. He would be quite happy having the 90 gallon to himself. Good oscar tank mates in a 90 gallon Id say would be.. Silver dollars Pleco Jack dempsey All these 3 tank mates I have had with a single oscar in a 90 gallon with no problems at all. There are more I can list, but I am listing the ones I had success in a 90 gallon with a oscar. Questions ?
  24. Well thats good that you don't want a albino oscar, because you are most likely never to seen one.. ever The problem about the veil tail oscars is that when you put them with other cichlids, there long tails tend to be a target for nipping.
