I just tested that sticky for a 60 gal 300 w double that if in the basement .Well that is where my tank is with a 100 w no problem running at a temp of 75.
put a 5" wide pice of glass in the center inside level with the top. Why not go for 48" then a light will fit beter.

I have the same kit it will not work with some water conditioners you might have to get a 3 part kit.
To test ammonia in a system that has been conditioned with ClorAm-X you must use a Salicylate Method test kit and not a Nessler's reagent.
i think you should put 3/4 plywood on the top then foam .To test it put down a wet layer of paper then set tank down you will see where it is touching .Then shim to flat
