  8. well.. there's many central and south american cichlid that do a wonderful job, caring for there young.. personally, I have found that synspilums do a great job tending the babies and fending off other c/a cichlids. Our texas pair are excellent at caring for there young as well.. --------------------BUT--------------------- I have found that once the female is gravid again and the pair start to do there spawning ritual.. The old batch of babies will need to be either taken out of the set up or given loads of hidding spots. good luck..
  9. Distochodus - Look at this post and ask yourself - "Does this really add any value to the forum." If you think it does, there is probably a place for you on mfk.com. Connie, I did not know that there were any small Tilapia. How big will these get? Are they agressive? Kevin Tilapia bythobates reaches a length of 15cm.. and they arent very aggressive, even when spawning. I bought mine as Tilapia snyderae but they turned out to be Tilapia bythobates. the two species look very similar. I was under the empression that they were very difficult to find in the hobby these days...Mine never paired off but when they matured their belly's turned a beautiful red . good luck with the breeding..

    Hello

Hello live in edmonton and dont own any fish tanks but my room mate has at least 10 tanks. I'm responsible to feed and take care of his fish fairly often. He told me to join this site to learn all about fish . My favorite fish is a 6 banded Distichodus, we have a 12inch one that schools with our tinfoil barbs.
