  3. wow congrats  my only attempt at breeding bettas flew out the window when my male ate the babies after taking care of them for 4-5 days xD but congrats on your spawn
  4. Also need help on this topic, Ive been able to post pictures before but cant anymore because almost every picture I use is too big >.> My max upload size is now 2K
  5. I just use a jar which has a hole in the lid for air line tubing and still end up throwing a lot of shrimps away. I also have this setup which I made out of desperateness when I had a bunch of unexected swordtail births. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7uNkHPuGaqo...feature=channel
  6. Thanks I was thinking of getting around 4 multies anyways to make sure I have atleast 1 male and 1 female now just need to get sand and fishes xD
  7. lol for some reason I had a mental picture of all my sand going up the siphon thats why I asked. Thanks again
  8. thanks jvision, I guess im good then cuz the intake doesnt go into the sand but still dont know how people siphon thier tanks when you got sand as a substrate
  9. okayy so after a long debate I think Ive won the "debate" about setting up my old 10 gallon again and I want it to be a shell dweller tank, I had my mind set on multies though it depends on how much I can get them for. I got a 10 gallon tank and after reading a lot about them on the net, I think I should be fine with a handful in there, correct me if Im wrong I just had a question about the substrate, almost every site says to use sand or crushed coral, but the filter I got is the hang of filter would the sand be sucked up or something? and how do you gravel vac, or clean the sand? Sorry I know these might sound like stupid questions but thats something I havent been able to find the answer of. I just need to get some sand, heater and shells then will be looking for multies soon so if anybody has a couple they can sell or if they are thinning their colony in a couple of weeks PLEASE let me know one more question, cuz they stay at the bottom, can I stick a gourami or something in the same tank that they stays to the top. any fish that wont eat their fry and wont pick on them? cardinal tetras? white clouds? or is 10 gallon too small to stick anything with them? Thanks guys, I know im always full of random and weird questions but any help would be appreciated. Thanks Is there anything else I should know?
  10. a couple of shell dwellers with a dwarf gourami? Though since Im not an expert on this topic, I'd get somebody else to go over this
  11. yeah, I've noticed my cherry barbs and mollies both picking at cabomba, they seem to be enjoying the plants a lot, and only some of the plants that break off get stuck to the filter, theres always some just drifting around and I normally scoop em out as soon as I notice them. so far no one knows of any fish that eats the plants that break away, but thanks lol.
  12. Thanks firestorm, those links helped a lot xD and thanks for the offer for the microworms, I'll be sure to message you when they are needed. I don't think the filter has anything to do with it because all my cabombas are away from the filter and its a penguin 125, anybody know anyfishes that will eat the floating leaves? trying to catch them with the net every day isn't really going to work with me for long
  13. okay so I'm supposed to be studying for a huge bio test tomorrow but ended up staring at my tank for a little while and came up with a couple of questions. 1. Some of the plants in my tank (Cabomba) make a lot of mess because theres always little pieces floating here or there, or just stuck in the filter, are there any fishes or something that can solve that? eat it or something? I always notice that a lot of stores have some kind of barbs, normally rosy barbs in their plant section, when I asked why they said cuz they eat the rotting plants? is that true? I should get some if that's the case. 2. I'm interested in getting a bunch of live food for fries (molly fries), especially daphnia, infusoria, and microworms cuz they sound like a good and easy cultures to maintain but do I need a starter culture, how do I start one? 3. I'm looking for baby black mollies, close to around 20-25, I am not using them as food >.> I just really like them, if anyone has any that they'd like to give away please message me. anyways back to studying >.> sorry for random questions
  14. That's what parents are for. My parents tried to tell me I have too many fish but I don't live at home and I just don't listen!! LOL lucky >.> unfortunately Im still in high school so I'm not really in a strong position xD and I think they meant more of how I have more birds then fishes >.< I only got a 20 gallon running right now, but got 2 cages full of birds and one pair sittin on more eggs
  15. lol thanks guys and ye I heard about their deals but been too busy >.> and having problem with my family cuz my mom thinks I've got enough fishes for now >.>
  16. Ye I am looking for more cories but I do have 4 cories, 2 albino and 2 panda, but the Panda's are a lot smaller then my albino in which one is like 1 inch and the other one is close to 2 inches. They seemed to be eating the flakes that sank to the ground, but thanks for the advice, I probably should get pellets for them soon, I heard they also eat certain type of veggies if you tie it to a rock or something?
  17. lol thanks for that, and ye I was looking at bolivians at pisces this morning, they all had the black marks on them meaning still sleepy (it was right after 9) but I did get 2 panda cories, I wanted to get around 5 but the people ahead of me decided to buy all the cories they had but were extremely nice so the guy scooped 2 out of their bag so I could have em.
  18. Just making one thing sure, should I only get 1 ram for a 20 gallon? or is it too small for it?
