  4. I don't think it would stress the fish out unless it got wet and they obtained an electrical shock.... Lana
  5. Firstly Congrats, You either require a lot of hiding places for the fry or you need to scoop them up and put them into another tank. You may even consider removing the holding females into another tank, once she spits remove her... Lana
  6. I would love a large tank, I know the size in measurement but not the gal measurement. I would love a 7'L x 3'W x 29" deep... I would house some hap's and my Front's in it.... would buy a couple more Deep Water Electra's, maybe some speckled kids and my dolphins of course! Oh and of course I would have to hire boom to help out with the cabinet and the sump and anything else he can...LMAO Lana
  7. What type of fish are you wanting to put into the tank? Lana

:welcome: To AA, I too am new to fish keeping, and like you made some mistakes in purchases. Which has resulted in MTS (multiple tank syndrom) I just got into fish at the end of June, as you can see below I jumped in with both feet... Now I am on the ride of my life...hehe Thankfully there are great people here to help us newbies get our feet wet and turn us into sponges that absorb every bit of their info. Lana
  17. :welcome: to AA Oh gosh it is like chicken pox, spreads like wild fire...hehe Lana
  18. I wish we had a jointer, dang would make for nicer fences when doing the horse padocks as well. I have to say tacking up some of them worped boards makes for some fancy foot work and some squishing with the body to get that board close to the post to nail that sucker up...hehe... how can you tell I am a farmer...hehe My husband would love it for his buildings I had him make, you know horse shelters, cat house etc... he tries to make them a square as possible, but when you are working with would that is worped like crazy can make this task hard as all get out. Lana PS Thanks for all the explanations too!!!
  19. Thanks patrick, Wish I had your camera and skills..hehe Lana
  20. he looks pretty big... What is the life expectancy on the sharks? Lana
  21. Thank you, I will help you set your's up, the rocks in that tank were from our neighbors field. We live on a farm, so lots of neighbors have piles upon piles of rock. It was easy finding flat rocks too. Those kind of rocks are the best price too...hehe Lana
  22. :welcome: to the group! You will like it here, lots of knowledgable people, good fish and lots of info. Lana
  23. HOLY CATFISH, someone was watching over him... glad all turned out well... My kids and I had our own Betta scare... I had the kids do a water change, but only told my daughter to wait for the warm water and I will add, in the mean time my son grabbed a jug and poured it in, well shoot his betta, was struggling, the water was so cold, shoot I ran so fast to get hot water from the water cooler and kept adding it gradually, poor guy could barely move he was so cold, but I kept him moving and wouldn't let him stop, kept adding warm water and he made it, he was swimming around the next morning like nothing happened...WHEW... Man I don't like those scare's... that kind of adrenalin rush I can do without... Lana
  24. I may bring a male salousi as I seem to have a couple of those. RED O, is that the cobalt blue you brought up from Calgary, snap he is stunning!!! I may also bring some malaysian snails too... I have to look in my tanks to see if there is anything else, but I don't think so... Lana
  25. Boom, You will have to do lot's of explaining on the way, with me being new to fish, I don't understand very much of this sump system... so I would love lots of pictures of that and explaination of what everything does or is supposed to do...hehe It looks awesome, so far and you have a good headstart....your wife is letting you do it...haha Lana
