    Hello

    Welcome to the site!
  4. neat... have a pic of the plant and flowering stems?
  5. awesome pics! That first fish is really nice looking. Why are the ram and cory confused?
  6. Back in June I had been doing some trimming in my tank and had a bunch of roots floating around the tank at the end of the night... the next day I see this....
  7. 20130720 Finally got around to messing with my white balance on my camera so this is much more accurate color wise. Sorry for the mess, it really needs a good trimming in this pic.
  8. I used to use air pumps for oxygenating when I first started in the hobby but the noise of the pumps got on my nerves not to mention the co2 loss. Plus all the bubbling and splashing up onto my stock canopy lighting was reducing the effectiveness of the lights because of the water stains it leaves on the bulb. sounds about right for cory cats. I hardly ever see mine unless I am motionless for a few minutes.
  9. Don't think prime is the issue here. Depends on what you are feeding them and how much. Betta will gorge themselves and plug up.
  10. You may also need to do a bit of research on what can go into the tank with them since they are cichlids and may eventually eat up any tetras or small fish in your tank. Nothing a little tank reorganization wouldn't fix though. Just thought I would mention it in case it ends the idea of angels based on what you have in tank already. Another excuse for adding a brand new tank to the collection perhaps?
  11. when in doubt get both! Glad I wasnt the one to let the secret out of the bag... still looking forward to seeing what you have been up to
  12. wow... the things you could plant in that tank!!!! awesome!
  13. looking good...like the background color change too.
  14. I use garden hose straight from the tap. On occasion i dont want to pull that out so i use bucket. You can attach a short length of hose to a utility pump that you can stick into your 5 gallon bucket to make it easier to transfer from bucket to tank. I have one and plug it into a power bar and use my foot to turn it on and off.
  15. Not sad at all. HM is generally pretty easy to grow although I have never tried it after its been hit with excel. Hopefully it recovers.
  16. If you are talking about removing them off the forum so you have more quota to upload new pics go to upper right where your name is and click > my settings > manage attachments > select the pics you want to delete
  17. + 1 on water changes with cold water not being too big a concern as long as you arent pouring it in suddenly. I often do 50% WC but do a slow fill so the temp comes down gradually. Takes me a couple hours to get to the top but I am patient. Also heard a tip a few years ago where people freeze a half filled 1L pop bottle and drop 1 or 2 into tank in order to cool the tank down.
  18. I agree!.. its a great start! once the stem plants start to grow it will fill in nicely but you will very likely need to move them to the back somewhere eventually.
  19. looks great! And just the right amount of lego! You gonna moss up the branch?
  20. Looks good! Your son has a good touch with the scaping.
  21. Somehow I missed replying to this. Sorry about that. No the Ray 2 doesnt have moonlights. The Fugeray has separate power switches for the moon and the daylights but only one power cord so you cant have them running at different times.
  22. its pretty warm... not burning hot but I would say it is uncomfortable to put my hand on there for 20 seconds. Definitely much warmer than my Finnex Ray2. Both are the 48" fixtures. Edit: placed one of them floating thermometers lying on its side on top of the heat sink and it pretty much maxed out at 45 degrees.
