  1. Cool video. I know that the majority of people to the internal overflow box. How much work was it to set-up the external overflow box?
  2. Great looking build so far! Do you have some more pictures of the plumbing now that it's all hooked up?
  3. Nice looking set-up! That drift wood looks great against the plants that you've added.
  4. Awesome pictures! Your severums look so small in comparison.
  5. Very cool progression of your tank over the years. I'm a big fan of the discus set-up.
  6. Very nice shots! Looks like you have a nice group of clown loaches in there as well.
  7. Very nice looking tank. What's the fish that swims past on the bottom of the tank at 0:16 and 0:32?
  8. Wow, what a change. Looks amazing!
  9. Looks great with the water and fish in it.
  10. Glad to see you back. Congrats on the baby.
  11. rubbermaids will work perfect. No need to bag the fish. If you have any plants or ornaments in the tank put them into the rubber maids and that will make the fish feel more at home. Also if they are going to be in the rubermaids for a while add an airstone/powerhead/HOB filter to circulate the water and keep the O2 levels up. If your thinking that this could be an overnight or 2 day task then you might want to add a heater as well. Bascially a rubbermaid container is just a non see though tank. If you are going to save 59g of water from your already establish tank you'll have more than enough bacteria to keep up with your current bioload. Just make sure not to add too much bioload on your new larger tank at one time. The bacteria will multiply as you bioload increases. Also another good suggestion is that most people will want to clean their filter prior to putting them on their new tank, I would recommend leaving them nice and dirty because that's were all your bacteria are living right now. Let them re-establish in your larger tank and then in a couple weeks clean your filters.
  12. Based on my experience with swords I would say no. I'm sure that 1 of those will fill that portion of you tank easily. If you have enough lighting and some sort of root tab they will grow to form a full hemisphere with a tonne leaves. So if you were to take the largest leaf and lay it over that's how much clearance it will take up. Underneath the soil, the roots will expand and cover the entire bottom of you tank (Its kind of cool to see if you can view the bottom of your tank). I wouldn't worry about splitting them either because they'll start sending out runners faster than you think. Then you'll have more swords that you can shake a stick at.
  13. I have an anubias in my chi right now. It is a very slow grower however it is still growing. I have my chi sitting in front of the bay window on my main floor house. I haven't tried any other plants yet but I plan on attempting a faster growing plant.
  14. I just drain my tanks into the floor drain of the laundry room and then I have a splitter on the cold water tap for refilling the tanks. The water gets really cold in the winter so I fill it at a much slower rate but right out of the tap.
  15. Nice looking group of cichlids. You have nice color variation in your tank.
  16. Great looking tanks! I like you geos.
  17. Definetly go with the 1 time purchase. If you keep it for 2 years its paid for itself. Plus depending on how much CO2 your dosing on your tank the 10lb cylinder will last you over a year easily.
  18. Congrats! I'll keep watching this thread as they grow up and your wanting to sell them. I'm looking for some juveniles.
  19. Nice tank progression pictures. Looks like you have a nice colony established.
  20. It's more permanent but I've found that spray paint on the back of tank works great. No wrinkles or worrying about water between the vinyl and the tank.
  21. Yes, I made sure that I got the high output LEDs. I just picked up another strip and now the 2 LED strips over the tank look awesome. I think they look better than the previous PCs i had over the tank and I went with a higher Kelvin rating to get more of a white/blue color.. So far no ill effects on any of the plants, definetly no problem with getting the LEDs output to the bottom of the tank. (The tank is only 18" deep).
  22. Amazing. Where abouts were these pictures taken?
  23. Nice looking set-up. I have a similar set-up with my angels in my 180g. Looks like you have alot of pearling on your plants.
