  1. It's dropped to the low 80s this morning so I'll just let it be for now. Find out which heater screwed up tonight.
  2. Marineland Stealth. Pretty sure they're usually pretty good. My only complaint so far other than the overheat now is that it has nothing telling you that it's heating. The new pro series does though so I might just switch to that.
  3. Picture would be best. Odds are if it looks like a ac30 then that's what it is.
  4. So I just checked my temp in my piranha tank since they were acting really different and found it at about 98 degrees. So I've unplugged the heaters for now will find out which one is malfunctioning later but is there a best way to cool the water down again? And what other problems might come up from this? I've already tossed a couple ice packs in a ziploc back in the water.
  5. I've got a bunch of seachem liquid ferts that I don't need anymore if you're interested. Most are barely used. PM me if you're interested.
  6. Don't think BN eat the plants and as long as it's not the giant ramshorn than they're fine also.
  7. How big of a tank is it for? And maybe you just got one that didn't work properly...
  8. I've ran ferts with DIY CO2 on my low light 55 for a while with no issues... I've even done ferts without CO2 and ferts with only excel. I have had no issues in this tank.
  9. My issue was more placement of plants. Anything near the sides of the tank or rocks got dug up. While plants that were more in the middle were left alone. They dug plants alot more on the day I don't feed also. Overall I had it so nothing really got dug up in the end.
  10. I've got a couple plants I could give you to try. They just came out of my african tank.
  11. Diatoms are a pain. The more you clean them the more they spread. Just make sure you have great water quality by keeping up with the water changes and it should just cycle itself away.
  12. Should be good for now. Thanks for the help. I'll be looking for an oscar probably this weekend and probably some silver dollars. Have to see about a pleco. Find out what's available and what I like. Don't need another common pleco really...
  13. That's a gorgeous pleco. Don't think I'll be spending that kind of cash on one though. What do you mean the As for silver dollars? And I guess I prefer bio load over food and algae in the tank. I do enjoy plecos though. So that's not an issue.
  14. Right. Now I do remember reading about lutino oscars. Silver dollars might look pretty good. Add most movement to the tank. How many would be good? I am kind of figuring on a pleco also just to keep the scraps and somewhat algae to a minimum.
  15. I didn't really plan on putting other cichlids with it. Perhaps another oscar to see how that works on a pleco. It's in a 90 gallon.
  16. Are you saying that albino oscars don't exist? Or that they are just hard to find...
  17. I kind of figured on getting a tiger. Haven't really looked at other ones. Long fin perhaps don't think I want an albino.
  18. Looking at getting an Oscar here shortly and was wondering if anyone recommended anywhere over and above other places. I realize they can be found at most places but was just curious if a place had better quality stock than another. Thanks in advance.
  19. How big of an oscar tank do you have bettafishmommy? And I assume only one oscar? Sorry to thread rob a bit here...
  20. I could supply media loaded with bacteria if you liked. I would also purchase your own liquid test kit if I was you so you can keep a closer eye on it on a more regular basis. Usually not an issue if things are going great but when there is a problems it's a must have.
  21. Water color I can understand, but I've never heard of tannins making the plants brown. That's why I said diatoms. Otherwise yes, driftwood would easily make the water tea color for a long time to come.
  22. Sounds like diatoms to me. You should generally be doing water changes once a week.
