  2. I was in Toronto once and bought a GPS system to get around but I was still getting lost until I realized that it was a womans voice[i seem to be conditioned to ignore them] maybe trying to talk to your fish with a deeper voice.
  3. Hi, we're aware that we have a problem with our website and are trying to get it fixed, as for your selling at this auction are you a member of any aquarium club? only members of a club can sell but you can join ours at the auction for $25 and if you P.M. me your info I can pass it on to Michael who runs our auction and I'm sure you can sell at this one. Yes there will be hotdogs. Thanks Eugene, President ACE

  7. Our policy is that if it is not labeled as "in working order" then it will be sold as parts so if it works just label it so and there should be no problems. Remember that if you take a few minutes to clean up your hardware it will generally sell for a lot more money. We try to be as fair as possible to the vendors but we can't allow them to try to off load faulty hardware to the buyers. We have worked hard to build a good reputation with the people who come to buy and we dont want to jeopardize our reputation.
  8. Betta Bites? Splendida Slices? Siamese Sticks?

  13. The A.C.E. fall auction will be Sun. Oct 23 at High Park Community Hall, 11034 154st. Like Ray says, anyone can buy but only members of a aquarium club can sell, sometimes we also get sellers from the Sask. clubs or the Winnipeg club. Deliveries start at 9 am, viewing from 10 till 11 am and auction starts at 11am. Please bring cash as no cheques are accepted. Club membership is only $25 per year and can be purchased at the door but seller lots must be booked with Michael Pham our auction coordinator as soon as possible. P.M. me for his email address if you dont have it. We have a 500 lot max. that we try to stick to, a basic 20 lots for each member at first and any extra lots over that will be handed out on a first come first served basis, so book as soon as possible. Thank you and hope to see you at our auction. Eugene A.C.E. president
  14. You could try switching to a canister filter with the return lower in the tank then they might not splash so much
  15. There is a chance that they will crossbreed but theres a better chance that one species will try to breed and get very territorial and kill all the other apistos around
  16. The regular yeast works best for me not the type for breadmakers, its dirt cheap at Costcos
  17. You could always donate them to the raffle if you want to, I'm sure Ray would appreciate it.
  18. No problem, we have membership forms at the meetings just see Hans.
  19. Our regular meeting is this Tuesday at 7:30 pm at St Benedicts School 18015-93ave. The topics this month will be 'My diving experiences' by Ken Holliday from Northwest Scuba and Han's annual super Quiz. Prizes will be awarded for the top three places and a new rule will be imposed starting this year, the winner of the quiz will not be eligible to win for two years. This should leave it wide open for new winners. Due to a problem with a dropped computer the Aquarium beautiful contest has been posponed until June so there's still time to enter your pictures of you aquariums. Contact Rudy to enter. Thanks, Eugene

    Driftwood

What I've used in the past on large pieces that I've collected from riverbanks is I first pressure wash them [no soap of course] put them in a large rubbermaid container and soaked them in strong chlorine solution for hottubs. Keep the solution strong enough to smell like a swimming pool for about a week then after rinsing them well with a pressure washer I soak them again for another week with clean water with a strong dechlorinator, rinse again and they should be safe to use as long as theres no chlorine smell left. It's important to remember that there should not be any bark left on the driftwood to start with.
  21. It looks like you could add a Hamburg matten filter in one end
  22. Don't lock me out!!! I will be there as soon as I can, but likely about half way in to your talk on Rainbows. Sorry, can't make it sooner. commitments. As it is, I will be carrying my auction fish with me as I don't have time to drop them off before the talks! hehe! Also: So, I took a bunch of US money out of the bank to bid on these, and I am guessing now that if they are donations to the club we will be bidding in cdn dollars, not US? I know we are paying for our preorders in US, and have that covered, but I got confused on this part. Thanks Dan The donations from Gary to the club can be paid for in $Can. as these are worth more than US anyway
  23. There will be prizes for the best tanks as voted by the members at that meeting
