  1. Look great. Have you found any difficulty with rescaping the tank with the roots getting caught on the substrate heater cables?
  2. This journal has been a fun read. Thanks for sharing. What is your favorite plant so far? All the leaves look very healthy. Can you share more on the spray bar?
  3. Yes superglue is safe for your tank. Take the wood out if you can and attach it that way. Don't go crazy by applying a huge patch in one area. Just enough so that the moss will say. It will eventually attach itself to the wood. I would prefer to wrap the moss thinly around the driftwood and then tie around with either a mesh (dollar store delicate laundry bag) or with green cotton thread. It will hold within 3 weeks. If you like the moss ball/wall look, the mesh is the way to go. Just make sure the squares are large enough.
  4. I would keep the light suspended at least 1 or 2 inches above the glass for adequate air flow. Does it come with a splash shield? Is it fanless like the Tek or does it rely on some fans? If it is fanless, you will hear it crackling when it turns off. That is normal.
  5. That would work well. Add a splash shield and you are good to go.
  6. Rotalla wallichi requires really high light in order to stay red. Did you know that cabomba will turn red with high light as well?
  7. Why don't you setup a nice auto-water change system. That way at least you can still go on vacation. I love the hobby but it also prevents me from getting away for long periods of time.
  8. How about filling the background up with that limnophilia/cabomba on the left?
  9. That is very neat. I wonder if it will breach the surface.
  10. I think it would be your pleco or snail eating them all. You could manually transfer the eggs the next time they hatch. Just keep on the maintenance of removing the fuzzy eggs. If you start tracking when they last breeded, you can predict when they will breed next and move the parents to a quarantine tank before hand.
  11. I like argonite sand. It has a nice tone compared to playsand and looks good with white keystone or granite. I don't have any plants in my cichlid tanks, but if I did I probably would use flourite.
  12. After seeing those rays, I can't wait to go swimming with the sting rays in Orlando. Looks good!
  13. Haha, now I totally realized that I read your sig in the avatar wrong.
  14. I don't think you will be over filtering. I have the XP3 (using spray bar) on my 90 gallon and it's not enough filtration or water flow. I also have a Fluval 405 on my 55 gallon and that is not nearly enough. You could try creating a substrate tube like what jvision did in his journal. Then at least it spread flow out equally throughout the tank.
  15. Do you have a nice group of them? If you setup the conditions properly (aquascape a layout where they can breed), and they dont have constant disturbance from oher fishes (preventing the spawning from occuring), it should work out. Make sure the temperature is just right and do a larger water change. Should spark some activity.
  16. Now you have to post a picture of it and make us guess. And I totally thought Werner is an old German guy. lol
  17. That sump pump at HD might be too noisy to your liking.
  18. Excellent idea. Maybe you should create a new thread for different lighting fixtures. Then we can update images and reviews on all of the different fixture we have.
