Welcome to the forum. There are often complete setups available on kijiji. The more the tank comes with the better off you are. The small things tend to add up and getting them all at once, at a great deal, is the best. I have even scored a complete 55g set up free! Bigger is better, once you see all the cool fish available you will want to keep adding to your collection.
  2. Nice set up! I have two Chi and love them. You are missing out on the best part of a Chi, the fountain at the top. I planted the fountain with assorted plants, some aquatic that can grow out of water and some house plants that love water. The results are quite stunning.
  3. Hubby is a plumber. He recommends Rona, Lowe's, Homedepot. etc. You can buy parts at plumbing wholesalers but you have to buy in bulk.

    Hello

    Welcome to the site!
  5. I have seen amano eat cherry shrimp. Amano would be my guess.
  6. Ohhhh I like the rhino pleco! Where did you see one?
  7. Welcome to the site. I am in the process of redoing my nanos. It is a fun project!
  8. Sorry Fishclubgirl, I meant to bring it to the last meeting, but then ... lol. I will do a bit of research and get back to you as to what I am interested in. The crypt parva sounds interesting, I like crypts!
  9. I am in the process of redoing a bunch of my little tanks, 2 - 5 gallons (Fluval Spec and Fluval Chi as well as a little water garden/fountain I am starting). I would appreciate any suggestion for plants that do not get too big but will grow fast enough to fill out for ground cover. I also need suggestions of a bit larger plant that grows slowly, I need some height in the tanks too. Easy to buy locally in Calgary is also a plus. Thanks in advance!
  10. I see nothing wrong with MTS. I think it is a healthy expression of hording lol. If the apocalypse ever happens, I have plenty to eat and drink.
  11. I have been thinking about doing this for a while too. A friend of my son has a full system, she is a chef and really makes use out of all products. Pooping is what fish do best, may as well take advantage of it! I am really interested in how the goji berries do, the health benefits are amazing.
  12. Welcome! There are quite a few cichlid breeders on this site. Maybe post what you are looking for and you probably will get them for a good price. I have bought many fish from this site and always paid far less than store price.
  13. The rare guppy betta is still there for adoption ... just saying lol

    Hi All (:

They call this site AA for a reason.
  15. Wonder if this tape would work on small tanks with cracks in them?
  16. Welcome to the site. Congrats on the 75g. I started with small tanks and now up to a 230g ... highly addictive!

    Hello

Welcome! This is a great group. Lots of knowledgeable people hang here.
  18. Plants and Betta are both addictive! Aquarium club auctions are the best place to score nice plants at good prices. I think the clubs have the auctions in October sometime.
  19. I have one molly that is about 3 years old. He is not even 1/2 inch long. Strange little guy!
  20. I find that white worms really do the trick for my betta. I can spawn them like crazy, just need to work on the fry survival rate. Maybe show them some fintastic porn ... bow fishy wow wow :w00t:
  21. Welcome to the site! Photography and fish go hand in hand, they make such beautiful subjects! My Betta are such hams for the camera. If you ever need to practice, I am sure there are many here that would love you to snap a few of their fish!
