  5. i agree with ya but they already had the tank drilled when i bought it and that was the best way to get it to the other end i plan on taking it out to test it but i wonder what the flow will be like with the output right beside the overflow on a tank this size

    Zavlar

from what i remember from a buddy trying to use it goes on thin and i would worry about not getting a good seal i would put it on like crazy then cement or silicone it all on after
  10. i was wondering if i that would work or not was going to start looking for a attachment i could modify
  11. problom with a funnal is it will suck down to the bottom so easy i was thinking more like an ice scraper shape and would have about 1/4 inch diffrince bettween the frount and back so it will never get stuck to the bottom and i can just run it along
  12. I run a bare bottom tank with a 7x3.5 footprint i use a garden house for water changes but i wonder if anyone has seen or hurd of something to widen out the suction range of my hose id like from 6 to 4 inches would work almost like a vac attachment as then i could suck up a lot more of the fine stuff along the bottom
  13. not sure about the flow rate and i wonder if you even need to heat it plus i know of a few people heating there hot tubs in a same way how do you plan on controlling the temp
  14. welcome i wish i lived around there and van so much easyer to get quality discus as most of my stock has come from out that way
  15. I have extra almond leafs in edmonton my discus will hatch in tap water with a few bunduls of almond leafs right now im on week three with a nice cross with about 20 or so not the bigest one i have had but its the first time with this pair

  21. 4 fish so far unfortunily the first one was one of my smaller discus that was getting picked on so i stuck it in there as supposed to my quarinteeen tank as it was tank water and didnt think much of it i did stick my hand in when the light was on the heater 200 watt ehime and didnt get shocked im just surprised if it was the wrong silicone it would kill them that fast i may just bite the bullet and hope for another at this auction and keep it bare bottom or painted
  22. i made sure it was the stuff with no additives that everone was saying to use the water is straight from my 500 gallon at time of a water change with a spounge filter i had running in the sump of my 500 gallon for three months so i dont think it has anything to do with water as all the other fish are fine in my monster tank and that were everything was from i just didnt think if it was the wrong silicone whould turn the water deadly that fast
  23. ge silicon 1 100% didint have any mold stuff or anyting i let it sit empty for two weeks after then hald full of water for another two weeks and i have done about 10 90% waterchanges
