Hello from another newbie :welcome: . Lots of good info here! Just ask!
-
Do read through the entire thread. Other members have made significant improvements to the basic method and they work very well. Cheers

I would put all of it in but remember to filter it through cheesecloth or a coffee filter first- lots of crap in it!! don't forget heat and bubblers too. Make sure you read through the entire topic to get the nitty gritty.

I "brewed" the septo bac overnight first ( 1 pack, 1 gal warm water, stir, filter before adding to tank) then added it to the tank and immediately added the ammonia. The septo bac contains ammonia eating bacteria and that is your seed to breed more. Remember to keep adding more ammonia to keep levels up or your bacteria will starve. Hope this helps.

Dang!! By the end of the day, you will the world's most expensive ceiling too! :smokey: Will be a close call when having beer (s) whether to admire the fish or your wall and ceiling!

Good job! Wecome to the forum. I am still iffy with the plants. They don't die but neither are they taking over the tanks!!

I would stick with Ebo Jager. Proven and never any problems.

Yup, well water. Mine is soft but enough sodium there to pickle fish!! (which is why it is soft :-))
-
I would keep an eye on it and if it spreads then worry about it. otherwise if by now nothing has happened and it hasn't spread, it should be alright. Just my 2 cents.

When I transport fish, I actually do the opposite. I lower the temperature with ice slowly and place the fish in black garbage bags with no light. Reason is, fish are cold blooded animals, lowering the temp makes them almost asleep (along with the dark) and they are not as stressed. If possible, I give them a shot of oxygen and some slime coating chemicals(name escapes me at the moment). Containers are higher than wide so not too much sloshing (think beer glass vs plate). I am sure everbody else has an opinion and this is just my 5 cents worth.
