  1. Bamboo sharks get minimum 4' Tim. You are owned.
  2. DT's is starting to really piss me off. It is just ridiculous when you get one 20 some odd bottles and ALL of them have gone bad before you've even opened the fridge door.
  3. Mag's are dependable but hum. I can't comment on the other two.
  4. Hey Tim, I don't mean to preach or anything, but that shark is going to need a tank for itself and Big Al's shouldn't even be carrying those things outside of special orders... Anyway, dammit all to hell, I'm going down there and grabbing some of those cuttlefish. Well, when I say some, I mean one.
  5. I once saw this awesome tool that was made to remove silicone/grout from in between tiles. It was basically a razor blade that was bent into a V. You might call a hardware store for something like that.
  6. Big hammer and a fight with the wife :guns:
  7. Btw, the purple fish in the pic are suppose to be blue. That color of lighting looks like some kind of spot lighting (look at the flood in the center of the tank), possibly with powerglo or actinic support. Also, dark room + camera not capturing true spectrums = strange colors.
  8. Actinic and marine type bulbs are terrible on their own. You will have the visual depth of a night in the woods without fire or flashlight. As supplemental lighting to full spectrum, however, they are actually great at highlighting (or distorting, pends on how you look at it) color.
  9. Yup, hybrid. Decoratus are much more elongate than that and the plating on the head is nearly IDENTICAL to the eupterus. I just spent ten minutes on planetcatfish, btw, so that's where I'm making this call. Apologies in advance if it turns out to be a valid fish, haha.
  10. If you ever need help with HTML or whatever it is up there, let me know and I can help you with it.
  11. Too cool. Set up a new tank for more seahorse yet Paul? haha.
  12. Well, not only would a central overflow like that increase the chances of leaking, it would actually have a higher chance of blowing out the entire bottom. One good rule to adhere to when you're working with large tanks is to NEVER drill the bottom!
  13. Because all the spacing is wrong on my view. I will screenshot when I get home.
  14. Check it out here: http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.p...threadid=619976 Since your tank is to be viewable from all sides, this might not be feasable. Another way to do it is to change up your stand and incorporate the entirety of each end panel of your tank with this style of overflow, kinda like how Jim Barry did it. I'm not exactly sure how a pump would empty a sump. Gravity vs. Pump = flawless victory for Gravity.
  15. So, uhhh, who's the one playing with the html?
  16. Nice, where did you find that piece of wood?
  17. Actually, there's no need to rinse. Those sediments clear up after a day or so and are actually beneficial to any future occupants in the sand bed (more particle gradient = win). Larger chunks of whatever can just be netted out once everything clears.
  18. Heh, that's pretty cool Paul. These things are hard to get good pics of eh?
  19. Also, since you're still in the planning stages, you may want to consider linear overflows on your tank as opposed to the traditional corner-type overflows. These have HUGE advantages over corner overflows: 1. HUGE noise reduction without the use of standpipes. 2. Able to harvest more of the protein ladden surface water because of the wide surface area. 3. Far easier to service since they are much shallower. 4. More in-tank room to play with, no unsightly corner overflow. 5. No need to drill a hole in the bottom of your tank (this is always a liability with large tanks). In addition to this, you may want to consider a closed loop for current. These offer the most flexible power to cost ratios and give you more play when it comes to wave making choices.
