I'll have a quad 10000k lighting system, a plug n play RO unit. Throw in a 420 acrylic as well.

Pretty sure spencer jack has them, his may be from the northern part of the lake. Kigoma reef the reddish ones. Not for sure if they are the redder ones or not don't quote me on that or my spelling
-
They usually get out, but it's not unheard of for them to get stuck

Deals are really good. Makes me wonder if petsmart USA is ending their relationship with eheim. Sorta seems that way. I like sharing deals because we all know how expensive this hobby can be.
-
Sorry I paid 40 for shipping. Great prices.
-
Anyone here that loves eheim or wants to start loving them, now is a great time. Petsmart.comm online has great deals on all their media, filters, and accessories. For example the pro 3 xl 2080 which can retail for up to 500 is like 190 shipped. This filter is good for those large 300 gallon tanks. It does have a lil bit of a shady reputation for leaking after a few years.

Advice Needed! Rescued Silver Arowana

How big and how old is it? -
Kanaplex isn't too expensive to dose 150 gallons, it's a pretty cheap med IMO. I know like flash does that kana works awesome on bacterial fin rot
-
Jay and cully have basically gave you all the info you need. Probably directly related to water conditions bc it's newish tank. I not gonna repeat their advice it's bang on

The fluval 29 gallon is rimless. Nice looking little tank.

After reading your post a lil more carefully you say the fins are growing back already? Mine would not grow back at all under bacterial attack. But once treated and healthy with clean water and salt they grew back very rapidly. And they were bad, not as bad as your but close. And it was every fin.
-
No way man. You wanna stop that bacteria from eating away the fins. I had a aro with same issue. I kept water pristine with lots of salt never helped. If it's bacterial u need to get some meds. I used seachems kanamycin I think. Whatever it was it halted the fins recession and started healing within 24 hours. Aro recovered quickly after that. I wish I would of used meds earlier. Everyone kept saying clean water and salt and everyday his fins were diminishing. Only the antibiotic helped

Yeah I agree with noodles. Julie's are a good idea. Mine would be able to raise one or two every time but the compressiceps ate the rest

And fate b slapped me again. Went to do a 25 percent wc on a tank. Noticed fx5 crapped out. Great thing petsmart will replace it on the spot! New fx6 for me! I am going to still try and make it out there. Anybody out there on the fence? Just go, I've been to a few. Can't find nicer ppl anywhere. Great experience. -

Looks like 2 to 4 cms of snow by tom afternoon. Wear you seat belts -
33 would be perfect for hyps and peckolitas. Like jay said. Lots of great looking fish in those categories.

There's usually plecos at the auction. Especially if Harold's coming up. Not sure on tht though. I'd forget the 33 if you are gonna get gold nuggets. Water volume helps with plecos. As they foul water pretty quickly. Especially if fed fresh veggies and starches

Haha no thank you -
I'd stick with smaller plecos, if the zebras in your budget it's perfect. Africans can get along with plecos but it's far from ideal. If it's plecos only, than sometimes I use a school of small fish in there to clean up a lil and to make them feel more at ease. I have 13 plecos in a 110. Heavily filtered. Most small but a few bigger ones.

They get this frown when they hold. Took me a while to pick up on it, but once I did it was easy to spot before the eggs swell

Angelfish Fins Look Like They Are Melting?
PistolPete replied to flash_oesc's topic in Fish Emergencies
Kanaplex clears up basic fin rot in 1 dose. I always dose at least twice anyway -
Will it just lower gh by a third? And a small reduction in ph can be expected?
-
Thanks, looks like I have to bite the bullet. So how much can I lower hardness and ph, by using a third RO water mixed in?
