  1. You can also get the same brand in 9 watt bulbs if you're lighting up a smaller tank.
  2. Lookin good, any plans yet?
  3. True Dat! If I had a tank ready, I would have bid on the arowana. From what I could tell, it was a Red Tail Gold and a super steal at $45. Yeah if I had bigger tanks I would've definitely come home with something nice, unfortunately I didn't get any fish, just a power filter that's way too strong for the tank I got it for haha, so it'll now sit under the stand until I figure out something to do with it sadly.
  4. Quite a few deals today, whoever got that arowana and that Eheim Pro2 got some super deals.
  5. If you want the same photo period each day and aren't concerned about it being rounded to the nearest 15 minute interval home depot has timers for $6.99+tax.
  6. I work 2 minutes away from big als and go there all the time and didn't know there was a place around the corner either haha.
  7. Yeah i'm sure there's people who would be interested in taking them. If you were in Calgary I'd grab some off you also.
  8. Tanks? Think of the pond you could set up on 13 acres...
  9. If you're going to do this make sure there's absolutely no water left inside the rock, as rocks with water in them can explode when heated.
  10. Did you dechlorinate the added water? Heater malfunction? Do you run CO2?
  11. Any pictures of the tank? Sounds interesting. Why did you choose not to use a sump for something that size?
  12. Without draining the tank and keeping track of how much water it takes to fill, there isn't really much of a way to find out the true volume is there?
  13. Mine are golden barbs, and the moment any food hits the bottom all of them surround it and just devour it, even if I had just fed them. Your experience makes me wonder if I could do it though.
  14. Id like some cory's, but don't know they'd get enough food on the bottom as my barbs are constantly picking at the gravel too. Also wouldn't want them to be getting harassed.
  15. Both look good. That driftwood you have is awesome!
  16. I've read that keeping them properly fed can be difficult. What kind of experience have you had with that?
  17. Welcome. What are you planning for the tank?
  18. I have an ABN pleco in my 35g tank and I actually see it out most of the time the lights are on. Glass is kept quite clean though.
  19. Call around to any ones in your area, anywhere with a pharmacy. You can also try places that sell water treatment supplies in your area. You might be to get a lead at your LFS also.
  20. Pisces always does this with their equipment specials. Right now they have the fluval 406 on for 50% off MSRP at $199, regular price is $240 at big als. So you are saving $40, but not the $210 they advertise. The aquaclear 30 is $35 regular at big als, so again you are saving a bit but nowhere near what it seems.
  21. And once you think you've rinsed it well enough, rinse it once more just to be sure.
  22. Do yo remember how much the 50's were? I know the few times I've been there the equipment was priced at a fair bit over normal retail so I'm wondering how good of a deal it actually is.
  23. Yeah, glass itself will blok almost nothing but once there's dust and condensation on it I think there would be a bigger drop. I still run glass tops on both of my tanks though.
