  6. Um... I'd take odds it's red (rhodo) algae. edit: maybe that's why your turbo snail is doing so well...(?)
  7. I'm not so sure. Tell you what... I'll buy them for your cost and you can try again jk They're a sweet looking cory! Good for you!
  8. Fish, as with any pet, can be an opportunity to forge some great family memories. Best wishes!
  9. Researching compatible tankmates is always time well spent. Some incompatibilities can be reconciled in the same tank... some can't (which can lead to mts) Have fun; post pictures!
  10. be Welcomed! People sucessfully keep fish in both pijwee. And there are good lessons to learn with either sized tank. Be patient, plan your first steps and proceed with you're ready and yes, read about "cycling". Since you have living goldfish and a betta, you probably already deal with this to some extent. You'll find some helpful folks here I'm guessing here... plunk "yellow tang" in your search engine and see if that's the fish you're referring to.
  11. Symmetrical bristles have shown up along its schnoz; the two middle ones are 1/16" long. It's dorsal fin has a yellow tip just like its tail, just not as prominent. Striking when it's raised. Too soon to identify?
  12. Maybe they've watched your AruII long enough to give sparring a try Blake.
  13. Non-assassinating assassin snails... evidence that we live in a broken world.
  14. Be welcomed! See you in a few days!
  15. I saw Sunblaster at All Seasons just off Whyte Ave (perhaps it's a usual suspect at hydroponic stores). Lee Valley (184St & 104Ave) also sells a similar product http://www.leevalley...298&cat=2,44716 Options abound.
  16. Good show meeiu! If you ever end up using two fixtures on one tank, you have the advantage of spreading them out more than a double bulb fixture would permit. I don't know if anyone following this topic has fiddled with that idea. Does an extra 4" between bulbs matter to either create or eliminate lower light zones?
  17. Wah! Never thought of looking at Lee Valley (104 Ave & 184 Street) http://www.leevalley.com/en/garden/page.aspx?p=67298&cat=2,44716 The desription says it c/w a reflector (an option for the SunBlaster). Is the reflector squint worthy Sierra?
  18. Tanker's giving you the easy task Vince.
