so i kinda have an update. i switched my substrate from this hideous neon pink neon orange and black gravel to play sand from rona and my otos are loving it. i've never seen them so active all day. and theyre on the sand a hella lot more they are loving it. they are active in alot more of the tank aswell

So from a scale of 1 to 10 red and blue are absorbed at 10 but only reach the plant at 1 while green is a 4 it ends at 3 lmao if that makes sense.

So I bought vinyl tubing for 44 cents a foot at first 3/8 id 1/2 od and fit right in the middle so I returned it and bought 1/2 id 5/8 od and needed to boil water to get it over the barbs. But it worked. Water flowed and all the only thing is where I boiled it to fit it over is weak and kinks really easy so no I gotta devise a way to keep it straight and firm without my wife.

I bought a gro bulb for my tank a month ago so I could get some plants going. I switched the bulbs from in the back to the front and while I was doing that the end cap ( the metal piece) on the bulb popped off. Like a cat I quickly put it back on. I finished install the bulbs and tried it and its working. Does anyone see a problem with this?

That's a great buy! Never thought to check a home hardware store for a pond filter. Have you output flow into something like a pot or inside a fake rock structure to slow it down. Imagination. Make a fountain. Haha
