  1. I'd think to keep your balls happy would be like any other type of plant. Keep water parameters decent...and all will be well.
  2. Never thought have having to sterilize frozen pre-packed foods...a good tip to remember.
  3. pics? do these spots move or ALWAYS still ? too early to really say this or that...although the grouping comment is interesting. Give this google link a try...anything familar? http://www.google.com/search?sclient=img&hl=en&sugexp=pfwc&gs_nf=1&ds=i&pq=snail+eggs+aquarium&cp=20&gs_id=17&xhr=t&q=snail+eggs+aquarium+glass&pf=i&tbm=isch&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.,cf.osb&biw=1919&bih=966&wrapid=tljp1331612497963018&aq=0&aqi=g1&oq=snail+eggs+aquarium+
  4. good deal for someone to buy and domain redirect to their own sites
  5. Don't forget to check the garden centers. Many at least in Calgary carry the sunblaster line.
  6. I've been using this product for years. You just plug everything together and leave it if you want a longer accurate account of electricity. http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/browse/Green/BP/PRD~0528851P/Blue+Planet+Electronic+Energy+Meter.jsp?locale=en
  7. A few months back I needed to purchase a couple of chemicals. I did not want to get something from the US as shipping would have cost more than the product. I had searched locally and had found this website. The guy runs that business from his home in north Calgary. Seemed like a decent person...that they had been supplying 'science material' for a good number of years. Here is a direct link to the chemical page: http://www.science-is.com/chemicals.htm'>http://www.science-is.com/chemicals.htm http://www.science-is.com Not sure of exactly 100% where to have posted this. Yes stuff is for sale by that person...however not by me...nor do I have anything to gain by posted that website. This post is purely a FYI if your looking for such items.
  8. I agree with your thoughts about those large forums very much. Those huge forums i find as you find...very impersonal and at times quite aggressive. I hate ad's too...always in your face. However the ad banner on the main page can be utilized for the benefit of AA in local partnerships to spread the world that AA exists. Perhaps I should have said in my 1st post here...that more can be done locally.
  9. How about a dedicated Alberta Aquatica favicon rather than advertise invision. If wanted, I've created one from the existing site logo. Dunno what subscription was bought for AA from invision...that would dictate if a change can even be done.
  10. was a good idea...thinking in the right direction. however much more of this needs to be done. The idea only needs to be realized.
  11. Ishkabod, thank you for your reply and suggestion. I also like this idea.
  12. how tall is this plant? could do a few things...use the tomato type thing stick or net could cut it down and let it regrow under gravity IMO, any plant that goes back and forth between air and water will have some sort of die back. Expect some to happen Again IMO, it is over kill to setup a terrarium for this plant.
  13. browser - IE, Firefox, Opera, Chrome and the other 100 choices.
  14. log into the site with a different browser and give a go once again
  15. I guess chicken and the egg. A contest that promotes member participation.
  16. nothing...nada...not even a response saying, it would be a waste of time? :eh:
  17. Thanks all for your responses. http://www.maxwaterf...ucet_p_578.html Had just ordered this and a couple other things to complete my package. Cannot wait to get this home and install. At the moment, my son and I are fixing up the plumbing in the basement!
  18. For Calgary at these times of the year...salt runoff from the roads is higher than normal. Run offs of various things could be the problem...you yourself said 100% aged tap. I'm going to start a CRS colony as well...I'm waiting for that RO and will start only at that point. Since I don't like chemicals I'm going to use peat water to lower the ph...perhaps give that a try regarding the higher ph of 8. Care to sell any CRS!
  19. not sure if economical but I'll throw this idea out there. If this unit is sleek looks decent etc but just the led's are poor...perhaps buy those other cree etc and throw them in this unit. dunno if the volts/watts would match up tho.
  20. From my reading...with LED's you get what you pay for. An led setup that costs 30 bucks...or an led setup that costs 300 bucks.
  21. Where about's on it's 'head' is it? Little green things on/in a shrimp are very commonly eggs. How about a picture?
