  1. site was non-operational for 2 weeks or so. something about fatal error on line 163. happy it works again though
  2. If need to reseal a corner you best reseal the whole tank as resealing just a spot would result in bigger chance of a leak
  3. sounds like something with the impeller. a small grain of sand can cause havoc within filter. you find the broken clip piece? only thing i could see it being
  4. Granite boulders look very nice. Depends on what look going forto
  5. I believe granite is inert. Won't change water chemistry.
  6. I would be worried about micro cracks you cant see. 99.9999% should be ok ...but there is a chance. for me depends on where tank is ..basement with drain close by no biggie upstairs on hardwood is another story. I would put a dab of silicone on it to cover sharp edge a bit
  7. 2nd Funk idea boes are very colorful great in a community tank
  8. All I'll say is once you do 1st sump...you will want to do sumps on every tank you have. Just research a lot. Most people fear sumps as they think it will flood. As long as your overflow handles more than your pump can pump you should never flood even on a power outage. Take slow and research research and watch videos.
  9. I second aqua giant. Will cut glass Any size and a reasonable price too. 50st 129ave.
  10. Plants look more plastic. Nice looking tank

  12. Any extra light will help. Small sunblaster tho fixtures are resonably cheap and fairly low on the electricity for what you get. Growing lettuces now for my tortoise and it is a nice steady supply
  13. Over feeding is a great cause of excess ammonia. Most of us including myself have overfed our fish. Fish can fast for longer than we think. Fish look good
  14. Ya was fun...lots of great items and plants/fish. Already started fish fund for fall auction.
  15. Nothing wrong with duckweed ....i might need to thin my crop out also. Great for nitrate sucking. Usually a curse for filters but if intake low in tank no issues. ...deadly on overflows on sumps though lol. So I'll bring a special bag just for rayfong
  16. Who do we contact about lots? Was at meeting last night but wasn't paying 100% attention. Think i heard allowed 20 lots. Any help be appreciated
  17. Everything and anything could affect breeding.
  18. Flashing could be the dreaded ich. Look for salt like specs on fish.
  19. Think hydraulic will up ph slightly. With Africans shouldn't be an issue. Only thing I'd worry about is possible leeching of other chemicals. Never used hydraulic before either
  20. Ckmullin is the plant guru here. However every tank has its own challenges being planted or non planted. Only way you learn is by doing and asking for advice.
  21. I would do a rocky side of tank...leave spaces between stacked rock for exploring and other side do heavy driftwood with exploring areas. Nice chunks of wood an branches too btw.
  22. Meeting it is then. Looks like April 7 next meeting. Think i read before Allendale community hall 63st 105ave area. Time 7pm. I thinks. If different quick note here please
  23. Looking to take the plunge and becoming a membership card holding fish nerd. Ok i need to sell some stuff at next auction. So what is easiest or best way to become a fish enthusiast card holder?
  24. I usually just toss in a cube or 2 frozen. Fish and water temperature will break it apart faster than a fat kid eating cake n ice cream. I never had any problems doing this way.
