I don't have any moba fry and the supplier gets adults only about once a year. I'll email him to see what he may be able to find for me.

One of the problems with the decades old debates amongst the people who rename and reassign fish species and nomenclature is that they cannot reach a common solution to new discoveries vs. natural crossbreeding vs natural color pattern differences between different locales for the same species and even when there are changes not everyone accepts them as gospel and refuse to accept those changes. Take corydoras, apistogrammas and "L" numbered plecos just for a few examples. It becomes mind boggling and confusing for hobbyists and is doubley confusing when placing orders with South American suppliers. Everybody has their own opinions and I suspect that these people will never all be on the same page.

I have 1 pair of F1 goldheads and a couple of F1 Zambian black calvus but will have to give them a close look tonight to see what they are.

Golden pearls are supposed to be a better alternative to live baby brine shrimp. No muss, no fuss. My fry just love it and they get switched over to larger golden pearls as they grow and then over to crushed flake and NLS pellets. The fry will always do better for growth i've found if you feed according to the size of their mouths and keeping them full all the time.

Eugene"s comment brings up a point that always puts a burr under my saddle. Humane Societies and other similar organizations jump right in with both feet when it comes to protecting animals, reptiles and birds but do nothing when it comes to fish. When was the last time anyone here ever heard of a retail store or hobbyist being busted for neglect or mistreatment of fish. I can't think of a single occasion. They are living creatures and do deserve proper care and attention just as much as the others that seem so important and hit the news all the time.

I have lost fish after water changes as well but it is usually during spring runoff when the city adds extra chemicals to the water purification process. What I did was to reduce the amount of the water that is changed from 1/3 weekly to 10-15% every 3 days and doubled the amount of prime added for at least a month to make sure the city was back to normal levels of chemicals. This seems to work as long as I remember to do it in the spring. I called the city once and just got the run around about the amount and type of chemicals they use during this time of year. Seems to be a top secret project and the public is not entitled to be aware of what they add to our drinking water. They accept no responsibility or liability for what they do. I know you are on well water but it could be affected by spring run off too. My mother-in-law lives in Olds and every spring the well water she uses gets an eggy smell and turns cloudy for a few weeks.
