It is because they cannot be selectively bred. They are a purely natural fish that lack the color gene of red tail cats making them white, or platinum. They are selected from hundreds of thousands of fish basically meaning the collection process makes them rare. Many will also turn back to colored after a while and therefore a large one with the same coloration such as this one is nearly impossible to find. They all go to Japan so to get one to the great White North is un heard of...Until now. :thumbs:

This is the ray that recently had pups? Salt it up like Scott said and shell be fine. I wouldnt treat her.

any changes in the pattern yet? Friend of mine bought a 10" henleixmarble. It got quite interesting pattern on that girl. The spotting is coming well along the edge of the disc and the eclipses are definately darker. Very few have actually bred pure henlei so I am interested in seeing the development. They are always hybrids!

Charles sorry I will get some more photos shortly. The Pups are doing incredible. Eating blackworms, earthworms, Hikari pellets and shrimp. Growing like crazy and not one is failing. All doing perfect.
