  1. You will always get the $125 US Fish and Wildlife fee if you are shipping wildcaught stuff out of the states... if its captive bred there you dont get it. I always just assume that cost. Shipping will probably end up around $50-60 per box from SharkAquarium. The list I got from Piranha Man was a nice list, but did not have the wolffish that I am lookin for... but if youre looking for a giant wolf fish its the place to go
  2. I was wondering the same thing... its SharkAquarium.com and appears to be the answer to all of our problems If someone wants to setup an order, I would love to get in on it... I would do it myself but I am in the process of moving and it is just not feasible for me to do so
  3. Yup, its definetly a black piranha and not a pacu... should have seen what the thing did to the net when they put it in the tank
  4. There is/was a black piranha at the Coventry Hills Petland that is damn near that size... big bugger has to be at least a foot, could be bigger
  5. Would love to order lots, but I cant find anyone that has any to order from
  6. yeah those guys are pretty awesome too, still havent heard back from piranhahouse... pretty much going to give up on them... I have one of my suppliers through work checking for me but I'm not sure how much luck he is going to have.
  7. talking about the "electric blue" jack dempseys. Until they get about 3-4" they seem about as hardy as a neon tetra, after that they get much better... absolutely beautiful fish. The reason is most likely that they are heavily inbred, as most fish are that are line bred for an elusive trait... but at least they are not hybrids
  8. I have emailed piranhahouse.com and asked them for a stock/price list... hopefully they reply soon /edit Anyone else have an idea where we could find these fish? Would like to have a couple options on shipping/cost
  9. here is a couple good links for info on them Wolf Fish Species Profile on Waterwolves forums Basically a condensed version on thetropicaltank.co.uk
  10. how can you not love this face?
  11. Anyone seen any Wolf Fish (Hoplias malabaricus) anywhere? I have been looking for about 2 yrs and have never found any. I haven't seen them on any of my order lists either... these guys obviously are not very common, but they look downright evil and I must have one.
  12. The 50% off only applies to fish that are under $10
  13. It is completely normal for an oscar to try and eat everything that it sees as a possible food source, especially any fish it can fit into its mouth How big is the tank? that could be a major factor in the Oscar's agression
  14. The Geosystem stuff should be about $25-30 for 10 Kilograms, not 10 Pounds
  15. Merodontotus Tigrinus... amazingly beautiful catfish, looks like a tiger shovelnose with a zebra pleco pattern on it. I am able to order one of these bad boys, but at $550-$600 it would anyone be interested? Cheapest I have seen them was $480 american online, not including shipping
  16. I would guess that it is just a quality control sticker, DL is probably the initials of the person who built it
  17. It is most likely an Oceanic tank Oceanic Website All of Pisces show quality tanks are Oceanic now, not sure about back in '98 but Im pretty sure thats what it would be. Definetly not from Mitch, they don't make bowfronts.
  18. nope, cant at all... kinda sucks
  19. I have BN Plecos, and a Rhino Pleco... but the only fish that I find actually pull their weight as far as eating algae is concerned are my Farlowella Cats, they keep my 54gal absolutely spotless even though it has about 150w of light on it
  20. all of my spray bars are pointed backwards towards the glass at the back of the tank at about 45 degrees... hitting just above the surface of the water, much quieter than straight down and seems to push just as much water
  21. My bay snooks are the exact same way, I lift the lid on my glass top a couple inches, throw the food in, and drop the lid as fast as I can... otherwise there would be a couple gallons of water all over my floor every time I feed them.
  22. What is the most effective and readily available treatment for anchorworms... these bloody things are p*ssing me off. Have tried bleach and lifebearer
  23. Yeah, apparently there is such a freakish monster... we had a big one at Pisces for a while... I thought it was just deformed
  24. Princess Auto up here in NE Calgary has real cheap hosing, I get most of my rocks out of the Red Deer River out by Sundre, some real nice stuff in there.
